"I went to find my parents."
"WHAT!" Hermione heard two voices exclaim. She turned to see that Harry and Ron had joined them in the kitchen.
"What do you mean, find them?" Ginny asked.
"Before the War, when all the muggles were being killed, i obliviated my parents and sent them to Australia. I freed them of all memories of myself and sent them away for a fresh start.
After the War, i was supposed to go looking for them. When i got the offer to finish my seventh year, i took it. But before going to Hogwarts, i talked to the Minister about finding my parents. He said i could go to Australia after i finished my seventh year, but under strict observation of the Ministry. Only a few trusted people of his were keeping an eye on me and contacting me from time to time. While the Minister and i were discussing all this, Ron walked in on us talking......"
"You knew about this?" Ginny interrupted, directing her question towards Ron.
"Yes, i did. I tried to convince her to not go because it might be dangerous. We fought a lot over the summer, but then Hermione had to go back to Hogwarts and i had to start Auror training. We didn't talk much during the year.
I realised that both of us had our own priorities and it was better if we ended any sort of romantic relationship we had. I thought it would be easier for us," Ron finished.
The tense atmosphere in the kitchen was broken by the doorbell ringing.
"I'll get it," Harry volunteered.
After hearing Harry arguing with someone, the three of them went to check on them.
Hermione was attacked by a bone - crushing hug. The scent of the person hugging her seemed familiar.
"Are you okay?" Hermione heard Draco ask. Someone cleared their throat and they jumped apart.
Hermione blushed a deep shade of red under her friends' intimidating glares.
"So, Malfoy what are you doing here?" Ron asked coldly.
"I came to check on Hermione after last night...." Draco trailed off, nervously glancing at Hermione for any reaction.
"Last night? What happened last night?" Ginny asked.
"N - nothing. Would you please excuse us?" Hermione said, dragging Draco away.
"What are you doing here?"
"I wanted to see if you were okay."
"I'm fine."
"But-"
"We're done talking about this. And you will not repeat what happened to anyone. I am warning you, i still punch like i did in our third year," Hermione stated.
"I'll go now. But i will pick you up at work tomorrow. We will talk about this over lunch. I am not letting this go so easily."
"Fine, now go!"
After Draco left, Hermione got ready to face her friends.
