The time had come that Betty and Veronica had both been dreading, their last night together in Riverdale before heading off to college, knowing that it would be a couple of months before they saw each other again.
Ever since they first met, there hadn't been a single day where they hadn't seen each other. Even before they fell in love and were just best friends they were inseparable, so the thought of being apart for so long was very difficult for both of them.
They had arranged to meet up at Pops for milkshake and fries. Betty said: "when you first moved here, who would've guessed we'd be here now. Not only a couple but engaged". Veronica smiled and replied: "I didn't even think anyone would give me a chance- and at first they didn't, except you".
Betty then said: "before you came along I was living a lie about who I was, trying to be someone I'm not to try and keep everyone else happy. You helped me be the person I really am and you've given me the belief in myself to do that.
Veronica then replied: "when I realised just how awful a person I was I came here determined to change that and be a better person and you believed in me and gave me the chance to be the person I wanted to be, a better person.
The girls then reflected on everything that had happened to them in the last two years, from Kevin playing Cupid for them to the objections of their parents and all of the memories they had created along the way. It had certainly been a remarkable couple of years.
Veronica then held Betty's hands and said: "I just want you to know that, no matter how much distance is between us over the next couple of years I love you with all my heart. Once we have both graduated I am going to marry you- I will become Mrs Cooper".
Betty smiled and replied: "when I asked you to marry me I knew that it wasn't going to actually happen for a long time, but I can't imagine my life without you in it and I want to marry you. I love you too" and gave the brunette a soft, lingering kiss.
The girls then decided to take a walk, holding hands the entire time. Every moment they spent together was precious and they wanted to make the most of it. At one point, Veronica said: "Betty, can I stay with you tonight?"
Betty replied: "I was hoping you'd ask" and led Veronica back to the Cooper house. As soon as they got inside Betty pinned Veronica against the door and pulled her into a passionate kiss. Veronica eagerly returned the kiss, only breaking apart when air became an issue.
Betty then led Veronica to her bedroom, both girls by this point driven by desire and too caught up in each other to worry about keeping the noise down. Betty took the lead and, gazing into Veronica's eyes, said: "I'm gonna make sure this is memorable".
The blonde certainly stuck to her word. Eventually Veronica collapsed into her arms and said: "well that was certainly memorable" before the girls snuggled up to each other and eventually fell asleep. They had definitely made the most of the evening
