After Betty had paid her a visit at college the week before, Veronica jumped at the chance to return the favour. Almost as soon as Betty had left, Veronica was on the internet arranging to go and visit her just days later.

Veronica arrived on campus and was directed to Betty's dorm room. When she got there she saw a girl who definitely wasn't Betty. She nervously asked: "err, hi, is this Betty Cooper's room". The other girl replied: "yeah it is, I'm her roommate Louise. You must be Veronica".

Veronica smiled and said: "yeah that's me, nice to meet you" and decided to take the opportunity to get to know Louise, pointing out: "I should probably get to know the lucky girl who gets to see more of my fiancé than me these days".

Fortunately Louise quickly worked out that Veronica was joking. At that point Betty came in and as soon as she saw Veronica she pulled her into a hug and said: "well this is a pleasant surprise" and gave her a kiss, briefly forgetting that her roommate was stood right there.

Louise decided to head to the library to study so Betty and Veronica could have some time alone together. As she left she said: "it was nice to meet you Veronica" who replied: "you too" before giving her fiancé her full attention and saying: "seeing as you came to see me, I had to come and see you".

Betty replied: "well it's great to see you. Even though it's only been a few days since I visited I've missed you so much" and gave Veronica another kiss. The girls then spent a while just enjoying the fact they were able to be together.

At one point Veronica said: "I have to be honest, I was really worried that once the reality of us being apart happened, it might cause problems between us and make you think twice about us. I wouldn't blame you".

Betty replied: "If anything being apart from you has just proved to me once again how much I love you and how much I can't wait to marry you. It wouldn't matter if we were in a different country it still wouldn't change how I feel about you. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't had the same worries".

Veronica added: "well us medical students are meant to be pretty smart- and I'd have to be pretty stupid to let go off an amazing girl like you. Anyone would be incredibly lucky to have you as a best friend, girlfriend or fiancé and I remind myself of that every day".

It was clear that being apart had, far from breaking them up, actually brought them closer together. The saying 'absence makes the heart grow fonder' definitely applied in this case. Anyone who knew them probably didn't think they could be any closer, but it seemed like they were.

Later on they decided to listen to some music and while Veronica was searching through Betty's iPod, she found the playlist titled 'Veronica' and said: "you made a playlist about us? OK you're too cute". Betty smiled and replied: "brings back happy memories".

The girls lay on the bed and listened to the playlist, once again cherishing the time they had together. Fortunately for both of them it was only going to be a few more weeks until they were home for Christmas. As chaotic as the place could be, they both kinda missed it
