Prologue

One cold Autumn night, a storm was coming, no one knew where the storm had come. Earlier that day, Jamie, a sixteen year old girl old at Hazel High School, was about to go to her grandmothers penthouse room, with her roommate. Most people knew that this hotel was haunted, not Jamie, she couldn't even remember the name for longer than five minutes! It was Friday, and Jamie's Spanish teacher, Mr. Greyg, had seen Jamie walk into the classroom last. Since Jamie went in the classroom last she was telling the class what she'd be doing on her Halloween weekend. It really didn't seem to matter to Mr. Greyg, it usually was sort of like a ritual, or routine, Mr. Greyg would always tell Jamie to tell the class her plans first. Everyone in the classroom knew that Jamie always had exciting plans for Halloween. The year before, Jamie had went to Waverly Hills Sanatorium for her usual ghost night frights. It was no secret that Jamie was a brave hero, everyone knew if there was usually a problem, the students would end up going to her. Not only was she brave, she was a prodigy. Not some musical, artistic, or computer prodigy, she has a very rare talent that only one eighth of the populations prodigies would have this ability. At this point, only two maybe three people in the world, knew what Jamie really was. Only her Parents, and Grandmother knew. Her parents walked by Jamie and saw that she was one, just by watching television, like Ghost Adventures, and Deadly Women, obsessively.

When Jamie was five, her parents thought all of her ghost stories, and murder mysteries were going to scare her. Almost a year later the ghost stories, and murder mysteries still didn't phase her. So, her parents decided to take her to a psychologist, and asked them what was the matter with her. ("Anyone I know would probably kill for that kind of awesome ability, that's so cool.) The doctor did brain scans, and realized she had the paranormal ability of a prodigy. Soon, the doctor explained her chances of normality as a normal child. Soon, the doctor went on, "Well, a paranormal prodigy is where a child around the age of five and seven years old, watches ghost stories, and murder mysteries, obsessively, especially without a single drop of fear in their eyes. When a child has this ability, their body would start to get excited, so it would only be enough time before, the child develops a sense of bad feelings, or bad vibes from an object, or a person. That type of child's parents need to keep a secret over this subject until the child's brain is fully developed the ability. Here is a booklet of legends, and risks, or in case you any additional questions, call me on my business phone."

Obviously the parents looked through the booklet and found many things that could go wrong. If a child is told about only this certain ability to soon, the young child would deprive the brain of sleep, and cause the body's appetite forever. Legend has it, the Paranormal Prodigies are all related to in some psychological way, to Lord CharLansky. Whether it is his mind, detective work, or artistic paranormal abilities. Hold on, some of you may be confused, I don't mean they are directly related, a Paranormal Prodigy inherits one or many of those abilities, from Lord CharLansky. Anyway back on the story, Lord CharLansky was the paranormal investigator for the King of England, from about 1487. His cousin, had the same paranormal abilities that CharLansky had, but he was born almost five generations later, and he was the paranormal investigator for the King of Switzerland. His cousin's name was Peter Griffian, Peter was working for the King, around 1783, and Peter in fact found the legend to be quite true. Now the only chosen people are Jamie Anderson, and Joseph Griffian. I will get into detail about Joseph later, but now's not the time for that. Studies have shown that on a person's four-hundredth investigation, they die a mysterious death, and their power is passed onto a 'newbie'. Peter Griffian was found strangled to death, in an abandoned carnival house. Of course, Jamie knew about the legends, she had learned them in a world's religion's class. But however, she was not told about the Paranormal prodigies in daily life. It was forbidden, so forbidden a life would be taken. One time about fifty years ago, a history teacher, made that mistake. He was telling the students about them in daily life, but it didn't go so well. He ended up having one in his classroom, and the poor child died four days later due to dehydration, and dying without food. The parents of course sued the school for basically killing the child in a classroom, and now the subject is never supposed to be spoken of in daily life. Most children, think that those are only rumors or legends made up by the public, but that's not the entire story.

Anyway, back to Jamie; it was second period, and she was sitting next to a really cute guy she had liked for a long time, ahhhh, Joseph Griffian. He was probably going to ask her to the prom, and why not, I mean you only live once, you only get one chance. Of course, they were friends, maybe a little more. Of course, Jamie and Joseph would share their families penthouse. Many people would think the couple would die together, some were probably right, this was the most dangerous place in all of their state. The couple had no idea about what they were getting themselves into, the ghosts didn't even know.
