Nothing better than school mornings. Stinky breath, oily hair, almost closed eyes, and 100 texts from a group text you wanted to leave in the first place. Oh yes, definitely nothing better.

I yawned even though I've been awake for an hour now. I stared at my pancakes which I had to reheat almost five times because I'd stare into space. I sat there wasting time until it was twenty minutes til school started. I told my dad goodbye but not my mom since I knew she was asleep. She had to take time off of work since my brother died. We expected her to go back at least after two weeks, but now we don't expect her to at all.

I sat my bookbag in the passenger seat beside me and started the car.

Nothing better than driving to school in the morning too. It always includes too many stop lights, road rage, and everyone thinking to themselves why they aren't in bed. Typical day.

I parked my car beside Kirstin's and quickly walked inside.

"What's up, bitch." I felt my bestfriend slap my bookbag.

"Oh yes, typical talk from my lovely best friend." I gave her a giant smile and through my hands in the air.

She flipped her hair playfully. "You know it." She winked.

I laughed at her and followed her to my locker. Kirsten was talking about some guy she hooked up with when I saw Ashton walking straight pass me. It was like in slow motion as he walked. Our eyes locked on one another's and he kept a straight face as he walked by. I kept my gaze at him even whenever he broke the eye contact to watch to see where he was going. Kirsten was still going on about how wonderful her hookup was.

"Hold up Kirsten. Give me one second." I told her and followed Ashton through the crowd of people. He stopped at his locker.

"What would you like?" He looked at me. He arched his brow and kept a flat tone to his voice. He had on a black tee shirt that was almost too big on him and red khakis.

"Just to talk." I smiled at him.

"Ahh yes, my new friend." He smiled politely at me. His tone was different than it was last night. "What do you need." He asked.

"Just wanted to know if you wanted to come sit with my friends and I at snack?" I awkwardly suggested to him. He smiled genuinely at me and looked at his feet. He almost seemed shy which was funny since last night he was more in a sassy tone. He was beautiful.

"I'll accept your offer on the seating arrangement since sitting alone is getting boring." He told me softly with a slight chuckle, but then continued on to his class.

"Well who is he?" I heard Kirsten said behind me.

"A new friend." I told her, turning around and walking with her to class.

"Oh my God did y'all have sex?" She gasped.

My eyes got huge and felt embarrassed as I looked around to see people looking. "No! I just met him at the bar." I lied.

"Well If you did hookup with him I couldn't blame you. He's pretty hot." She told me and nodded. "I'm surprised the bouncer's let him in. Normally they just let the girls in so the bartender can roofie their drinks." She said.

I looked at her again with widened eyes. "That's so gross! How do you even know that?" I questioned her.

"I have my ways." She laughed as we entered Pre-Calculus. "By the way, slide your test over so I can look at it." She whispered in my ear. I rolled my eyes.

"Anything for you." I told her. This was the big test.

I sat in my seat and bit my nails as I waited for Mr. Sandro to give out the test. I shook my leg ferociously and looked around the room. I don't see Ashton. He must not be in this class.
