Macey Isabel Foster, 20, was born on September 28, 1996 in New York, New York. She is the daughter of retired MLB catcher and 4 time World Series champion Nicholas Miguel Foster (Nick) and his wife Caroline Rea Alessi-Foster, they married in January 1995 in Brooklyn, NY. Caroline practices as a registered nurse at the Phoenix Children's Hospital, while actively pursuing a doctorate of nursing practice degree at Arizona State University. Since retiring from the MLB in 2006, Nick has taken a full-time coaching position with the Arizona Diamondbacks of the National League.

Macey has one younger brother, Hayden Derek Foster, 17, he was born on June 6, 1999 also in New York, NY. Hayden has followed in his father's baseball footprints by playing catcher. He has played in three little league world series' and at only 17 has received 4 NCAA baseball offers.

The Foster family lived in New York during baseball season as Nick was a career long member of the New York Yankees until his retirement in 2006. They also had a home in Florida where they spent time during the Yankees spring training. In 2006 the Foster's permanently moved to Scottsdale, AZ, Nick's hometown and the place where the family had spent some time during their offseasons.

Macey grew up as the typical MLB kid spending her days and nights at Yankee Stadium, running the bases with her younger brother and fellow Yankee kids, as well as traveling to away games with her mother. This fueled her love for the game and inspired her to take up playing softball herself.

Thanks to her father's close friendship with Yankee great Derek Jeter, Macey formed a close bond with the shortstop. She grew up calling him her uncle as he was named her Godfather shortly after her birth in 1996.

Like most children of professional athletes Macey and her brother Hayden were homeschooled by their mother until their permanent move to Arizona. They then began attending private Christian schools. Macey attended and graduated from Scottsdale's Chaparral Christian School in 2015. She was the vice president of her senior class and graduated as Salutatorian.

While attending high school Macey played both softball and soccer. She was an all-state softball player, the teams starting catcher all 4 years, and team captain her senior year. As the team's top hitter she lead the Chaparral Firebirds to an Arizona State class 4A championship in both 2014 and 2015.

Macey was offered 2 NCAA scholarships to play D1 collegiate softball from Grand Canyon University and Texas Women's College. Macey, who suffered a rotator cuff and ACL injury during her sports career ultimately decided to walk away from athletics and focus on academics.

She chose to attend Arizona State University after high school where she is currently a sophomore on track to graduate a semester early in December 2018. Macey is majoring in family and human development with a minor in psychology with hopes to become a Certified Childlife Specialist. She plans to take the CLS certification exam following graduation.

At Arizona State University she is a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, she also takes part in a few intramural sports activities like wiffleball and sand volleyball. In her spare time she also volunteers at her mother's workplace, Phoenix Children's Hospital.

Macey has been recently romantically linked to rising NHL star and fellow Arizonian, Auston Matthews, 19  of the Toronto Maple Leafs. The rumors of their relationship sparked in 2015. The two have been neighbors since they were 6 years old and have recently confirmed their relationship status via their individual social media accounts.
