Week 3, Day 1
{Highlighter}
We were currently on the airplane heading to Japan. The only bad part was waking up early to get to the airport.
The plane was split up where there were three columns of chairs on the left middle and right.
Max, Puma and I were sitting with me. Puma had the window seat because he is 3 minutes older than me. Max was on the outside seat while I was stuck in the middle.
"Hey, guys," Max broke me out of the book, which was totally not Twilight, that I was reading. Puma poked his head up from definitely not Barbie. "Can I practice my Japanese on you two? I've been practicing all flight by myself."
"Um, no," Puma said from behind me. "We don't know Japanese. Why don't you ask that Asian guy over there?" He pointed to an older Asian man eating ramen in the middle columns.
"Oh, okay," Max stuttered out. "I'll do it I guess." He slowly turned around and got the man's attention. "こんにちは、元気ですか?
The man looked at Max confused. "Dude, I'm from Compton." He turned away and began eating his ramen.
Puma murmured under his breath. "Racist bastard."
I punched him in the arm, and he glares at me. Then, he turned away and continued to watch Barbie. Max gave me a thankful look.
After a short while, I drifted off into sleep. Max was slapping me in the face sometime later. "Highlighter, I'm sorry to wake you up, but you have to see this!" He pointed to the front of the plane.
I immediately face palmed. Amelia was at the front, standing on an empty seat, with the microphone and a tie wrapped around her head.
"Shhhh!" She said very loudly. Honestly, she looked a little drunk. "Hello, everyone! I just want to say my name is Amelia, and I'm single and ready to mingle. I'm straight, but the Urban dictionary says I'm a bisexual prostitute, so we'll see how that works out."
Shocked, I poked my head through the spaces in between the seats where Grace and Suflé were sitting.
"Guys," I asked. "What the hell is wrong with her? Did you give her acid?"
Grace chuckled. "After she took a sip of her soda, I very suspiciously failed to hide a small bag of sugar. She thinks I drugged her with cocaine."
I face palmed then sat back into my seat. Turning to Max, I explained to him. "Amelia thinks she's high on cocaine."
Max face palmed as well, Puma started laughing uncontrollably.
The flight attendant brought Amelia back to her seat. "Amelia," I heard Grace say. "There wasn't any cocaine. It was sugar."
For a second, Amelia's face was not readable. Just for a second. "That's cool. I'll murder you in Japan."
Grace just shrugged her shoulders. "I look forward to it."
We finished the flight without anyone being high on drugs. Max and I were crushing Puma while looking out the window. The view was breath taking.
Dozens of lit up buildings covered the city passing below us. We arrived in Tokyo and got a hotel.
It was massive! There were two bedrooms with 3 beds each and kitchens in each of them, also a bathroom. We decided to split it up into boys and girls.
{Suflé}
Holy crap, it's awesome! The girls and I showered and changed. Then, we left to the streets to get some food, without the boys.
Amelia already knows enough Japanese to order and get by. She led us to a small shop right off of the side walk.
We all got bento boxes and ate them happily. "So," I got the attention of Amelia and Grace. "What should we do? It's night time, but is there anything good at night?"
"We could go to a movie theater." Amelia suggested.
"Will there be any anime movies?" Grace asked excitedly.
"Grace, are you a dumbass?" Amelia stared at her with confusion. "We're in Japan. Of course there are anime movies!"
"Baka" Amelia muttered under her breath.
"Uruse!" Grace fired back.
"It's urusai, dumbass. This is why you don't try to learn Japanese from watching anime." Amelia told her.
Grace scoffed. "Says the girl who is learning Norwegian from listening to gay fuckboy twins sing in a more pubescent voice then when Justin Bieber first started."
"Shut the hell up, you idiots!" I screamed. "We are gonna watch a fucking anime movie and you two are gonna stop fighting or I'll throw a lamp at you so you can lighten the fuck up!"
They both silenced and nodded their heads. I breathed in deep. "I think I saw a movie theatre while we were walking. Let's go."
We threw away our trash and made it to the theater. While we were waiting in line to buy tickets, Grace turned around and made a tiny shriek. She gestured to the group of boys in front of us.
"Amelia, do you know any Japanese pick up lines?" She asked eagerly.
"Yeah," Amelia answered with a smile. "I call this a combo. Say, taberu koto ga suki desu. Kichigai arimasen."
Grace turned and told the boys. They laughed and turned their backs. "Amelia, what did I say?"
She was saved as the line moved up and we got tickets. We finished the movie and went back to the hotel room only to find it empty.
Puma's POV
The boys and I decided to go to an arcade while the girls were out. Max and Highlighter kept walking ahead of me while pointing at random sights. Sometimes, I'd look at what they were pointing at and run into a street vendor cart.
We got into the arcade and it was filled with a bunch of crazy Japanese games. The one that caught my eyes was Dance Dance Revolution.
After a choosing a song, I was ready. In a couple of minutes, there was a crowd around me as I kept putting in more credits. They were cheering and I kept getting all the steps perfect.
When I was done, I bought some water and went off to find Highlighter and Max.
They were playing Guitar Hero. Max won the round and pulled Highlighter into a hug.
That's it. Something is up.
I walked over and broke them up. "Tell me what's going on. " I demanded.
"What do you mean?" Highlighter asked, playing dumb.
"What's going on between the two of you?" I asked, clearly.
"Okay, we'll confess." Max begun. "A week ago, Highlighter and I discovered we were the last two of an alien species. We were given special orders in our dreams to stay together and be a couple."
I stared at them for a second. Then it hit me. "Is that you telling me that you're dating?"
They both nodded."Sorry," I apologized. "It's just you guys weren't exactly straight forward."
It took them a while to get it. We decided to get some food. While we were eating, I felt something hit the back of my head very hard.
I turned around and saw no one. Then I felt a weight difference in my hands. I turned forward and saw my sandwich was out of my hands and there was no culprit. Once again, I turned around and saw Grace eating my sandwich.
"What the hell?" I asked her as I grabbed my sandwich and put it on my plate.
"I was hungry and I saw you eating food. But you can keep it. Why would you pineapple on a sandwich?"
I shrugged. "Anyways, we should get back to the hotel." Everyone agreed and we walked back to the hotel.
Amelia and Suflé were knocked out on the beds with cartons of ice cream in their hands.
We all decided to go to sleep. It's been a great day. Our next adventure in Japan awaits us.
