Chapter 4
Brooke's POV
Ryder walked through the dreaded doors while I stayed outside staring at them.
You can do this.
No you can't.
Yes you can. Walk through the doors. Come in!
Who am I kidding, I can't do this...
I saw Ryder look behind him, then completely turned around on a double take. The doors automatically opened letting him walk through. "R-Ryder, I-I can't," I said quietly.
His voice was soft, "You're scared, aren't you?"
I nodded slowly, waiting for the bullying to start. Instead, when I looked up he was just staring at me. An emotion was placed in his eyes that I couldn't place. "Can we just go home and say they couldn't fix it or something?" I pleaded.
Ryder shook his head, no, sternly. "Were going in there. You can do this. I'll be right here," Ryder said determined. I shook my head no. There's no way in hell I'll make it. "Come on. Don't make me carry you, because I will."
My eyes widened. "No, Ryder. You can't do that. Please just let me go home," I practically begged him.
"No, Brooke," Ryder stepped so close that out breathes mingled and I could feel the heat radiating off my body. His bright green eyes searched mine. I don't know when or how, but my back ended up against a cement pillar. Ryder put his hands on either side of my head, pressing on the cold cement pillars. My heart beat faster and my mouth dried up. He bent his head down until his lips were hovering over mine. I closed my eyes in hopes that he'd kiss me. Wait-hopes? Come on, Brooke. Pull it together. You don't want him to. Aw, hell yeah I do... I could feel the warmth of his body as he pressed his chest against me. Still keeping my eyes closed, I wondered when he would close the tiny space in between our lips.
His lips made his way to my ear instead of lips as he whispered in a sexy voice, "You're gullible, babe." Huh? Suddenly all warmth his body provided disappeared except for that of my wrist which Ryder had a tight grasp on. My eyes widened and I blushed as I realized what he meant by "gullible". He easily dragged me into the hospital because I was too busy being in shock and telling myself how much of an idiot I am.
The second we reached the hospital desk, I realized what was going on. Ryder's grip never lessened even when I tried pulling away. The whole time I was giving the desk lady information, I was attempting to pry out of his tight grip. "What's your last name?" He whispered in my ear as he pulled me in front of him. He swiftly snaked his arms around my waist, holding me there.
I struggled to leave even though my stomach wouldn't stop flipping at his touch. The nurse looked at me like I was a freak, which I guess I am, but all I really cared about was GETTING THE HELL OUT OF HERE! "Miss, what's your last name?" The secretary asked as I tried to dig my heal into Ryder's foot, which didn't even make him flinch.
"Bray," I muttered.
"Excuse me?" The nurse questioned.
"It's Bray. Now hurry up so we. Can get the hell out of here. Can't you see she doesn't want to be here?" Ryder snapped. The secretary nodded briefly and furiously typed on the keyboard. "Come on, gullible," Ryder smirked as he pushed me forward, still hanging on to me. I'm sure my face looked like a tomato by his comment. If it's possible, it got redder when I felt his thing press against my backside. His legs were separated because mine were between his. He directed us towards the chairs in the waiting area. I had stopped trying to get it of his embrace because I was hoping he'd let me go so I could run, but also because it wasn't as scary when he was holding me.
