Sam's Point Of View
Darkness. That was literally all I could see. Not one single speck of light around me. Not even another human it seemed. Just the slight sound of rain coming from outside wherever I was. I guess I had fallen into the school's basement and blacked out during the earthquake. I stood up as slow as I could, trying to feel around for a wall or maybe a boiler, something. I did manage gripping onto an object, but it wasn't anything I suspected. A flash of lightning came through the tiny windows and when I looked down, I saw my hand held a head nailed to the wall. A head nailed to the wall?! "What the hell!" I screeched, wiping my soiled fingers on my jeans. "This definitely...isn't a basement...at least I hope not!" I cautiously took a few steps around, almost stepping in human entrails. These couldn't be real, right? The high school did always put up decorations for Halloween...I guess they wanted to go all out this year. "Ha!" I laughed loudly. "They even got...stupid...news articles..." I paused, reading one of them in the faint light. "H-Heavenly Host Elementary school..." I quietly read over the newspapers' contents. 'Breaking News: Serial Kidnapping Ends In Murder'
The good name of Heavenly Host Elementary School has been stained in blood today as horrific details on the recent wave of disappearances are revealed. Over the past month, numerous children have gone missing within the town, and authorities quickly turned to kidnapping as the most likely explanation. Now investigators have located the whereabouts of these children, and their findings are far worse than anyone could've anticipated. The bodies of the absconded youths were discovered within the Heavenly Host Elementary School building on September 18th, 1973 at around 7:00 PM. Authorities further revealed that a male instructor from the school was found with them, alive but near-catatonic, holding a pair of bloodied scissors. Each of the corpses appeared to have had its tongue sev__ed and remove_________________ique mutilations far too grot___________________g to describe.' I dropped the paper, letting it flit to the ground. "This isn't real...not funny Nikki! I know you and Emma planned this!" I shouted, my whole body shaking. "N-Nikki?! Hannah? Emma?! J-James...?" I huddled into a nearby corner, hugging my sweater to myself tightly. I could barely see anything, even with my glasses and there was no trace of people here. Besides the dead ones. "Great, just great! Thanks a lot for leaving me guys!" I felt my hazel eyes filling with warm tears. I started sniffling to try and stop the crying, but halfway through my sniffles, I saw a blue light in the corner of my eye. "E-eh...? Good special effects guys!" I chuckled nervously. "Hello..." The blue light spoke with a childlike voice. 'I'm imagining things...I'm imagining things...' I pushed my glasses up, smiling crookedly. "H-He-Hey..." I greeted the thing back. The spirit was gone. Seriously? I turned around, planning on making my way towards the other side of the room, but it returned, shining dimly. "Onee-chan...why did you leave me? Why? When the scary man came...you ran..." The blue slowly turned into shade of dark red. "Onee-chan...why...why?! You promised we'd make it out together. Your a liar...LIAR!" I stumbled backwards, almost tripping over my jeans. "S-Stay away! I'm not your d-damn sister!" "You lie!" It's shriek causing me to wince and cover my ears. I tore into the darkness, not looking back.
----------------------------------------------
I slowed down after I reached a flight of stairs. "This...isn't funny...anymore!" I cried out. Still no response. "I guess I really am alone..." I felt my legs go weak at my knees and I fell into a pile of rubble. "W-Why is no one h-here? Nikki...James...E-Emma...Hannah...I miss you..." I sobbed heavily, this being the only sound throughout the stairwell. "I need you guys...I love you guys..." I choked out.
Soon enough, my cries turned into mere whimpers and I was the shell of my former confident self. I was still lying in the rubble when I heard it. Footsteps. They were coming towards me. I sat straight up, wiping traces of tears from my face, because I sure as hell wasn't letting my friends know that I cried. I was stronger than that! A figure ran closer and closer, stopping a few yards away from my position in the shadows. I stood, causing the stairs to creak. "Who the fuck are you?!" A girl's voice called out to me. Definitely not any of my friends. The girl came into the light where I could see her. "I said, who the fuck are you?!" She drew a knife out of her pocket. "I-I..." She ran, pinning me against the wall with her knife at my throat. "Save it. Do you know where you are?" She asked, calmer than before. "Hiwatomi Academy's basement?" I asked nervously. She made the sound of a buzzer. "Wrong answer! Your in Heavenly Host Elementary school. And most likely your friends are dead. Like mine." She leaned next to me on the wall. "I'm Tori. Hyoku Mattamoto High School, class 1-6." I stuck my hand out politely. "Sam. Hiwatomi Academy, class 1-2." Tori took my pinky and shook it. "Right...so is anyone else around here? Cause if not...we'll need to stick together. It's too dangerous." "No one else is here from what I know. And d-dead?" I asked, puzzled from her previous comment. "Yeah. Dead. My friends Fluffy and Red we're with me. Until..." Tori sighed. "...Until some bitch in a red dress came and killed them. So I'd watch out for the bitch and her crew." I felt a chill go through my body. My friends...they could be dead? Right this very minute? "No!" I shouted. "I don't want that to happen!" "Well then. I suggest we stick close together. Come on." Tori pushed off the wall and started walking down the stairs. "You coming?" She tossed me a look from behind her shoulder. "A-Ah! Yeah!" I scurried off after her, feeling lucky to see another human.
