Nikki's Point Of View

"Hannah? Emma? James? Sam?" I call out for what feels like the millionth time. "Why the hell is no one answering me?!" I shouted, frustratedly kicking the wall beside me. I wince in pain after kicking it, remembering my injured leg. About forty-five minutes ago, when I first arrived in this...place, I stood up from a wooden floor to find my right leg bloodied, bruised, and I think my ankle was broken. Naturally, my fear and anger blinded me from the pain, but it really hurt now. I could clearly see the outline of my swollen ankle in the darkness, as well as the deep gashes left by a nasty hole I had slipped in. This damn place I was in didn't have me feeing any better. The hallways seemed to stretch on endlessly and barely any of the rooms were unlocked. On the off chance there was an unlocked door, there was nothing really interesting in it. Maybe a few scraps of paper, but nothing. I rounded a corner for what felt like the millionth time, half expecting to see the same bucket I had been seeing for the past ten minutes, but instead...there was a body. A human body. "J-Jesus Christ..." I knelt down next to it, using my ring finger to poke its rib cage. It definitely was a girl, judging from the uniform. I inspected her further, shuffling some folds of the skirt to find a name tag. 'Emi Urabe, Byakudan Senior High School, Class 2-4'. I unclipped the nametag, stuffing it in my pocket. "Well...this pin on the back could come in handy..." I muttered to myself, taking off the down the hallway yet again.

It felt like forever. I had passed the same corpse probably a million times now, and I still wasn't getting anywhere. On the millionth and first try, I sighed frustratedly, leaning back down towards the girl's corpse. "Do you want your damn nametag back?!" I screeched. "You do?! Well then, here!" I ripped the pin from the back, throwing the id back in it's original place. It seemed to have some effect, for the next time I trudged down the same hall, it opened into a few new places. I tried opening a few doors, having no luck. "Damn...they really don't seem...real. Do they?" I asked the air. I did have luck with some doors, like classroom 3-A. I cautiously pushed the decaying door open, shuffling inside. I was inspecting the walls when I heard a small groan come from a few meters away. "H-Hello?" Another groan. I maneuvered past a few broken desks and piles of wood, moving closer to the sound. Brown tuffs of hair stuck up from underneath a pile of rubble and I heard another moan emit from the spot. "H-Hold on! I'll get you out of there!" I managed to brush all the wood pieces and dirt off the boy (I could tell he was a boy when I uncovered his head). He coughed several times before sitting up and facing towards me. "N-Nikki? Where am I?" James! He rubbed his eyes and looked at me with childlike innocence. "I...I don't know. Wherever we are, I guess we'll just have to find a way out, huh?" "I guess so..." I helped him up, making sure he had no further injuries. "You can walk, right?" I asked him as he dug his nails even more into my shoulder for support. "I think...so..." He grunted out. "Yeah, I can."

James and I ventured around the remaining rooms, finding nothing of interest except a lever that we managed to pull only a bit, seeing as it was stuck. After our third go around, I felt James stop behind me. "Yo, what is it?" I questioned, flipping my head back at his figure. "Was...was there a hallway over here the last time we came through?" He moved closer to the black abyss. "I don't think so. Weird. I say we go down. Don't have many options over here anymore." I started walking to the entrance of it, pulling him along by the sleeve of his jacket. Our trek into the darkness was cut short when my injured my bad ankle gave out and I ended up tripped over something. "Ugh...what the hell?" I glanced at what my leg was balancing on. "Oh what the fuck?!" James exclaimed, shining his phone's flashlight up. I hadn't tripped over a loose floorboard or anything, I had tripped over a person. A person with blood splattered all on them. "You think their still alive?" He poked her head cautiously. "I don't know...I mean...she looks really beat up." I inspected her up and down with my bicolored eyes. Bruises up and down her arms and legs, blood all over her, torn clothing...she was either dead or unconscious at this point. "W...hat...who are you...?" Her eyes opened slowly as she sluggishly batted James' poking hand away from her stomach.

---------------------------------------------

We spent a long time telling her who we were as she seemed to have gotten a concussion that triggered short term memory. We learned that her name was Paige, she went to Hyoku Mattamoto High School, and she did the same charm we did with three other people.

"How did you get here?" She studied James and I, frowning a little. "Well...we did the charm with our friends and there was a big earthquake. Then...I woke up here. Dunno about him, but I was very angry and hurt when I woke up." "You saw me when I woke up Nikki. I was confused. And I'm sure Paige was too." "I woke up by myself...I remember running away from someone and then...you guys. That's about all."

I scratched my scalp in thought. "You must've hit your head or something." I looked to James who shrugged and then back to Paige who just stared at me with blank eyes. "Think you can stand? It's quite dangerous where we are...I don't wanna risk anything else." I said, standing and brushing off my skirt. "I think I can." Paige's blonde hair swooped in front of her face as she gripped onto the wall and James' shoulder for support. "We'll help you walk. Let's move." James directed, pointing me in the opposite direction as from which we came.

The long awaited chapter 3! Aha! Yes, I know it doesn't seem like much happened but yeah. It's the best I could come up with. Any ideas for chapter 4's POV anyone?
