“Katrina.”
“Katrina.”
“KATRINA!”
My body lurches forward as a blood curtling scream escapes my lips. My hands are pressed against the rough, wooden floor of the Boar Hat Tavern. I frantically look around the crowded room and my eyes land on the blonde-haired, green-eyed young boy.
“Oh it’s just you.” I sigh in relief. I bring a hand to my forehead and notice that it’s cold and covered in sweat.
“You okay, there? I heard you screaming while I was giving Hawk his scraps.” Meliodas says, concern written clearly on his face.
“Yeah, just had a really bad dream.” I reply. He walks to the bar, pours out a pint of ale, and slides the cup across the floor to me. My trembling fingers wrap around the handle and I bring the rim to my dry, cracked lips. The light brown liquid burns my throat, but the sweet, yet bitter, taste makes up for it.
“Thanks, Captain.” I try to give him a small smile, but the corners of my lips feel incredibly heavy.
“Don’t mention it.” He nods. He steps out from behind the bar and makes his way towards me. Once he reaches me, he offers his hand to me. I take it and pull myself off the ground. My legs begin to shake and I latch onto his shoulders to keep myself steady. At this point, every single person in the tavern has averted their attention to us.
“Why don’t you sit down for a bit before serving the customers?” He says, walking me over to a bar stool. I nod my head and slowly take a seat. One of my hands grabs a fistful of my hair and the other is wrapped around the handle of the cup. Who was that chasing me in the forest? And why did it feel so real?
Half an hour goes by and I'm still bit shaken up, but I know I have a job to do. I slowly slide off the stool and make my way to the back room to change into my uniform. The pink tank top reveals my stomach up to my belly button and shows off my curves. The dark blue skirt is secured with a coral pink and reaches just below my rear. To top it off, the one thigh-high sock and black and white flats really put the look together. Normally, I wouldn’t wear such bright colors, but this is just the uniform I have to wear.
As I tug at the hem of my shirt, I hear multiple screams in the other room. I rush to the front as quickly as possible to see an armored figure in a dark purple cape. All the customers are leaving the scene and Hawk is trembling in fear of the mysterious stranger.
“Seven….Deadly….Sins.” The stranger says, their voice incredibly strained.
Meliodas hops over the bar and walks up to the person.
“Who are you?” He demands. The stranger doesn’t reply. Instead they lean backwards and collapse on the floor unconscious. Their helmet is knocked off and their identity is revealed.
An absolutely gorgeous girl with shiny silver hair and turquoise earrings is lying unconscious on the floor. It only takes a minute for me to identify the young girl. It’s Elizabeth Lyonesse. The third princess of Liones. I immediately kneel down and press my fingers against her neck. At least she still has a pulse.
“Let's get her to the back room. She's still alive, but weak.” I say. I wrap my arms around her back and underneath her legs and carry her to the back room, where I spend most of my nights. I gently place her on the bed and take a seat on the edge of it. Why is she here and looking for sins?
