When the
chill of the
twilight
chases away
the warmth
of the day
stealing the
vibrant hues
of the sky,
to welcome
another
cold night,
I throw my
words into
space, to
float in the
void and
reach your
heart, filling
each crack
with a fitting
letter, like
a missing
piece of a once
incomplete
puzzle.
Or so I thought
and in return,
I hear your
voice
wandering
in the haze,
calling for me,
to claim my soul,
stitch my open
wounds, and
gently kiss my
scars.
Or so you thought .
for little did I know,
that it's just a matter
of time for the letters
to slip through the
cracks and make
them even wider .
and little did you
know that there's
a pain, a
first-aid kit can't
soothe,and there's
a few wounds, that
even love can't heal .
so dear, next time
when my
letters come
knocking
at your
door trying
to fit into
the cracks
of your
almost broken
heart, I beg
you to not
open it.
and I
promise
you, the
next time
I hear
the sound
of your voice,
I'll keep
the tears in,
and drag
my soul away,
leaving you
to rove
amidst the
shattered pieces
of a lost love.
