I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Everything he said, I hoped was not real. If it was, well, I really hope he gets what he deserves. My fear rises again when I realized he was serious. He was devastated over his 'family' and blamed the cops for taking them away from him. He kidnapped them and I am still sitting here talking to him about it. What am I thinking? This guy could kidnap or kill me for all I know. When I walked over to him, I asked him what was wrong and he just shook his head. I persisted and told him I was not leaving until he told me what was wrong. I wanted to help him. Until I figured out what he was crying about and what he was probably capable of. Fear consumed me at that point, but I just could not walk away because it could trigger him and make him angry. I didn't want to be hurt or for that matter, killed. I decided just to act like everything was ok and calm him down. Maybe he would start to think clearly and do the right thing by turning himself in.
"You will see them again," I said "They probably miss you and are scared without you," I knew what I said was a lie, but right now, I had to protect myself. I had to get back home soon. Away from this man and with Lewis.
He started to go on about his life with the girls. Rose, Poppy, and Violet were there names. He said Rose had been with him for about 3 years. That made me think of how she may perceive the outside world and how her mental state is. It's probably not too great. They were his 'perfect family' he said and he loved them. They obeyed him. Possibly because they were afraid of them. He explained more about each of the girls and their living situations before living with them. Rose is actually named Shannen, Poppy is named Rebecca, and Violet is named Jennifer. They all called him Clover, but his real name is Colin. Clover, the captur, life stealer, businessman, and killer. He confessed that he has killed people. He said it bluntly, like it was a normal thing to do. He explained that he killed them because he had not choice. They were dirty or they didn't listen. He dumped their bodies in the canal or burned the bodies in his fireplace. I had to get away. I'm having a conversation with a killer and I have to leave somehow. I can't just say I am suddenly leaving or he may turn on me and who knows what will happen. He is mentally unstable. There is no way of telling what he is going to do or when he is going to do it. I pull out my phone, out of sight so he does not see it and get suspicious. I glance down at it when he is not looking.
"I just want to be with my family. They can't seperate us, I won't let them," Colin says with rage in his voice.
"You may not see them for a while, but you will see them," I try to sound reassuring.
"What do you mean not for a while? I am going to see them soon," he snaps.
It is my queue that I have to get out of here and get help. I dim the brightness of my phone, go to Lewis's contact, and type as fast as I can.
'With Clover. Kidnapper. Killer. At Playing Fields. Sitting behind tree. CALL POLICE NOW'
I press send right after I finish typing. I look up and see that Colin is still talking, but it seems he is talking to himself. I look down. My message failed to send.
