Chapter 4 - The dark secret unfolding

“I really don’t want you to go!” I held onto Zayn as tight as I could. His tanned, muscled  arms were wrapped round my body.

 “I don’t wanna leave you either, but this is my dream Meg!” he pulled away from the hug slightly and looked into my eyes. “I have to do this”

It was time for him to go to Judges Houses with the rest of the boys. They had decided on a name…. One Direction. Over the two weeks I had known Zayn we got together after a week, he is so lovely. He looks after me and I couldn’t ask for anything more. I have got to know the other boys too! Maddie still has a MASSIVE crush on Harry, but he doesn’t know! Might have to do something about that! I have also learnt that Louis is going out with a girl called Eleanor and Liam a girl called Danielle. Anyway now we are at the airport, me, Maddie and the boys, saying goodbye.

 “Im gonna miss you” I said, nearly in tears. Even though it’s only 2 weeks.

 “You two need to get a room” Niall was doing little sick gestures with his hands.

 “Hope you have a good time boys!” Maddie said, she was secretly going to miss Harry but she won’t admit it.

 “Harry did you tell your ‘special’ girl that you will miss her?” Louis said and winked

“Shut up mate!” he went bright red and looked at the floor

I glanced over at Maddie, her face looked upset. She really liked Harry. I saw a tear flash in her eye and she muttered something about needing the loo and ran off towards the toilets.

 “What was that all about?” Louis looked concerned

 “If I say, she will kill me!” I shrugged my shoulders “sorry!”

Zayn hugged me again and whispered in my ear.

“Is it Harry?” I nodded back and did a sad face. Zayn had guessed how Maddie felt a while back, she didn’t exactly keep it subtle.

There was an announcement on the loudspeaker –ALL PEOPLE BOARDING THE 0291 FLIGHT TO MAIN GATES-

“We’ve got to go boys! Where’s Niall gone!?” Louis looked all around him

 “He’s gone to get something to eat! Surprise surprise! Lou….” Harry rolled his eyes then turned serious. The look on his face told me he was nervous.

 “Yeah man?” Lou’s relaxed tone seemed to of settled Harry’s nerves abit as he relaxed his arms and shoulders.

“I’m gonna tell her how I feel!” he did a nervous smile and got his phone out.

Oh. My heart sank for Maddie. It must be someone else then, if he is going to call her. Harry got out his phone and dialed a number then clicked ring. He held the phone to his ear and mouthed ‘wish me luck’ to me and the boys.

“Hi…urm I don’t know how you feel but I really like you and didn’t want to leave without saying so” I feel so sorry for Maddie. She will be coming back from the toilets soon un-aware of the whole thing!

“What! Since when? It’s not been obvious at all!” by the way he spoke and the look on his face, I guess the ‘mystery girl’ told him she liked him back and it was obvious.

The next thing I knew, Maddie appeared from the toilets. Holding her phone to her ear, a massive grin spread across her face. Harry passed his phone to Louis and ran to Maddie. As they got close enough, the two bodies met in a warm hug and a passionate kiss.

“Wooooooooop!” Zayn yelled, not at all concerned about what the airport of people would think.

“Yeah man! I knew you’d do it!” Louis punched the air and jumped about.

“What’d I miss?” Niall appeared next to me with a sandwich in each hand and a mouthful of food.

Harry and Maddie ended the kiss and looked into each other’s eyes.

“First day im back, me and you are going on a date!” Harry said and grinned

 “Wouldn’t miss it for the world!” she said and kissed him again.

The loud announcement called again, the last warning for the boys flight.

Zayn “Hate to break up the love birds but guys we have really got to go!” he hugged me tight, kissed my cheek and slowly walked off to the boarding gate with the boys.

*Time Shift*

 “Quick quick quick! It’s starting!” Maddie shouted from in the lounge

 “Alright! Did you want popcorn or not?!” I ran in and jumped onto the sofa next to her.

Today is a Saturday; the boys have been at Judges Houses for a week and tonight is the first time they all sing together. Im so excited! The boys walked out in front of Simon and we both screamed “my boy!” Even though we had been on Skype nearly every day, I missed him so much.

“Thought I saw a girl brought to life

 She was warm, she came around, she was dignified”

The boys came on singing ‘Torn’ and our hearts melted! Liam and Harry sang most the chorus and Zayn did the background bits  which sounded so sexy! It finished and we both screamed.

 “That was amazing!” Maddie said in a high pitch voice

“I had no idea how good our boys were!” I got out my phone and sent a text to Zayn.

‘Hey babe I just watched the show, you were AMAZING! Im so proud of you because I know how hard you’ve worked to get this far! Show Simon what you’ve got!! I miss you so much and even the other boys a little bit haha! Can’t wait to see you again! Love you xoxox’

Half an hour after I sent the message he rang me.

 “Hey baby!” I was so glad to hear his voice, only it wasn’t his.

 “Zayn doesn’t love you” it was loud in the background but I could just about make out what they said. It sounded like a party and I could hear Niall’s Irish accent in the background!

Me “im sorry who is this?” I was confused, was this some sort of joke?

“Zayn’s new girlfriend” my heart stopped. What?! Hes replaced me? No it must just be a drunken girl who has found his phone he probably dropped.

“What? Where is Zayn” just then I heard loads of rustling and a familiar voice. Zayn.

“Babe what you doing with my phone!” then a cheeky giggle “why does it say Meg is on the phone?! What was that? No! how could you do that you silly thing” he laughed again then put the phone to his ear so it was clearer “meg? Are you there?” his voice carried a tone I hadn’t heard before, I didn’t like it.

 “Yeah I am here, but since you’d rather flirt to that ‘babe’ I’ll go!” I said and hung up. I hurled my phone across the floor and screamed. Why does this always happen to me?

“Calm down! Whats wrong?” she put her hand on my shoulder and I took a lot of patience not to move it off.

“Hes with another girl” Maddie’s face alone was enough of a reply. She walked across the room and got my phone, the back looked fine but when she turned it over the whole screen had smashed. Great, iPhone down the drain.

 “They come back in two days whether they get through or not so you can talk then”

 “I don’t wanna ‘talk then” I said and the truth was, I really didn’t.

“You need to sort it out babe”

Maddie didn’t know about my past history with boys. I wanted it to stay that way. If she knew, she’d be disgusted, appalled and maybe even not want to be my friend.....
