The next day it was bright and sunny but not really hot like in New York City. I went downstairs and I had leftover pizza for breakfast. My mom left a note that she'll be back before 3 o'clock. I didn't care much and I went back to my room and started unpacking more of my stuff. I started hanging up my posters, arranged my semi-creepy and semi-cute stuff animals, and started putting my clothes away in my closet. After I got majority of my stuff unpacked I decided to go down the street and look at some stores that I could possibly go and shop at that is nearby. I got dressed and put my boots on I grabbed the keys to my house and I locked the door. As I walked out the boy from yesterday was outside taking the trash out. I walked passed him ignoring him but he called out to me.

"Hey Jen!" he said to me with a smile. What's up with country boys with perfect teeth!

"Hey." I said to him.

"Where you going this early?" He asked.

"I'm just going down the street to find some stores I can probably shop at." I said to him.

"Cool! You don't mind if I tag along? I mean I can show you around since you're new and all!" He asked.

"I guess." I said to him.

"Awesome I'll be right back." He said. I waited for him on the sidewalk as he walked out he locked his door and he walked up to me. I walked down the street I stayed quiet and silent I didn't bother to engage a conversation.

"You really don't talk a lot do you." He said to me.

"Nope." I said back to him.

"Why is that?" He asked.

"I don't know I just don't talk a lot." I said to him.

"I see." He said to me. We continue to walk down the street until we found this one store that stood out the most. It was really old and runned down. There was boards on the windows and signs that says "Keep Out". I wonder why it looks like that. I walked up to it when I got to the front porch steps Joe grabbed my arm and stopped me from going any further.

"You shouldn't go in there." He said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because the man in there is crazy!" He said.

"Crazy?" I questioned.

"Yes! He locked himself in there for 5 years no one has seen him since but the last things he said before he boarded himself up was the doll of Alice is evil." He said to me with concern hoping I would believe him.

"Really.....how cliche! Is this your way of scaring me or something?" I said to him.

"What! NO! Listen there are other stores that are better than this one trust me!" He pleaded.

"As if! I'm going in there! I'm not scared of some crazy man!" I said to him. I pulled my arm away from and entered in. It was weird the lock of the door was unlocked. So much for a crazy man to lock himself in there. I looked around there was a lot of old vintage stuff that is older than me. There were old rocking chairs, old books, vintage mirrors, and so on. I continued to look around until I noticed this something that was draped over a long white cloth as if someone was trying to cover it. I pulled the cloth down and there stood a doll in a glass class. It was really pretty well made. The doll had long black hair, fair skin, wore a white dress that went up to the knee, around the waist was a silky red ribbon. Her eyes were closed as if she was asleep. However she looked more human than doll like. I wanted to touch it. I took a step back and I found a name on the top of the case. "Daddy's Little Girl". That's an odd name for a doll.

I continue to take steps back until I trip over something. It made a crash noise knocking a bunch of things down. Ow....I got up and as I placed my hand on the table I heard footsteps. I quickly hid behind these old mannequins. I tried to peek around to see who it is. I finally got a look it was an old man, he has a cane with him, he also had some hair on the sides of his had but has a big gap on the top of his head, he was looking around. I saw he has a few scars. Was he a Vet? Or a WW2 soldier?

"Who's there!" He said. I remained silent trying not to make a noise. I saw him turn around towards the that doll's direction.

"Oh my!" he said. I saw him hurriedly cover the case with the cloth, "You know you're not supposed to do that." he said talking to the doll. I was confused as if why he said that. As he walked around I quickly sneaked away from where I was and go behind a counter.

"I know you're bored but I ca-" he said but paused in the middle of the sentence, "What do you mean you found someone." he said. He continued talking to the doll. I continue to sneak away but kept my on the old man. As I did I accidentally knocked down a few beer bottles. I tried to stop them from falling but it was too late.

"Who's there!" He yelled out looking around, "I know you're in here!" I stayed silent hoping he would go away. I heard him groan in frustration and footsteps were heard walking towards me. I quickly and quietly moved to different area, my heart was racing so fast I don't want to be caught by this person who knows what he might do to me. I continue to move away as he got closer and closer until I heard his footsteps stopped and so I stopped. I stayed quiet as possible until the table I was under got flipped over and the man was there in front of me. I let out a and I hurriedly backed up and run away from him.

"Get back here!!!" He yelled at me. I continued to run until I accidently knocked the glass case down. The glass cutted my hand and some blood fell on the doll's face. I quickly got up again and ran out of the store. "Wait!!! Get back here!!!" He continued to yell at me. I continued to run and Joe was right behind me asking me what happened in there. I stopped running after a while catching my breathe under a small bridge that wasn't too far from where I live.

"Hey! What happened in there!" He asked worriedly.

"I tripped over something the man came down then he found me and chased after I knocked this glass case that had a doll in there and you know the rest." I said catching my breath.

"I see." He said he than looked down at my hand that was cut and is still bleeding, "Hey! You're hand it's bleeding!" he said.

"Oh about that the glass from the glass case cutted my hand." I said to him, "But I'm fine." I added.

"No you're not." He said to me. He grabbed my hand and pulled the bandana that was around his neck and wrapped it tightly around my hand making the bleeding stop.

"Thanks." I said to him.

"It's nothing but you need to be careful," He said kissing my hand, "A girl like you can't afford to be hurt." He said with a soft smile.

I smiled back at him a bit and I can feel my cheeks getting hot. He sooned walked me home just to make sure I was okay. When I got to the front steps of my house I promised him I'll wash his bandana and give it back to him. He smiled at me once more and walked back to his house. I walked inside my house. I quickly took a shower just to get the dirt and other stuff that was on me and feel refreshed. As I did my mom came home and she told me how wonderful the school I'm going to is as we eat over her meatloaf that she made.
