OLIVIA'S POV
"umm, sorry. I didn't think you heard m.." I say, when Louis interrupts me.
"don't worry about it......umm"
"It's Olivia." I tell him.
"Well then, don't worry about it Olivia" He says softly, smiling at me thought the fence with his pearly white teeth.
He slowly releases his grip from my hand and eventually lets go but still stands there. Annie has been unusually quiet during this time so I turn to make sure she's okay. She stands behind me in amongst a rose bush, watching me intently.
"so, are you going to just stand there or come round here and introduce yourself and your friend?" Louis asks me and I snap my head back round in his direction.
"Oh, no thanks. We have stuff to do anyway" I stupidly reply. As I say this I feel like punching myself in the face. Who refuses an opportunity to hang out with One Direction, only the biggest boy band in the world? Apparently I do. Maybe it was under the pressure of the moment but something must have come over me and I could never have imagined myself to act in such a way. Thankfully Annie is there to save me with her quick thinking.
"I think what Olivia meant was, Of course we would love to, if you're sure that's okay?" She says as she approaches the fence. I can feel my cheeks burning up like little cupcakes in the oven, so I just nod eagerly to make it look like this indeed is what I meant.
"Well then, come on" Says Louis, whilst chuckling.
I follow Annie through a maze of flowers until we approach the sound of an acoustic guitar being strummed gently. My mind is racing a mile a minute. I wonder if he remembers me, from that brief encounter a few months ago. I'm come to the conclusion that he probably doesn't, or he would have said by now but I still hold onto the tiny bit of hope in me that maybe, just maybe he does. I watch Annie carefully hop over a tree root but I somehow manage to clumsily misjudge the distance and end up toppling face first into the grass. How embarrassing. I shoot up to my feet immediately to try and take the attention away from myself but that hasn't seemed to work. I slowly raise my head to see five boys, rolling around the grass in stitches, at my misfortune and Annie, who is trying her hardest not to break down into laughter. This has to be the most embarrassing day ever I think to myself.
"Are you OK Olivia?" Annie asks me in a humorous tone.
"yeah" I mumble.
"We don't mean to be rude, it was just sort of funny" Louis says walking towards me smiling. "but, are you really OK?"
"Yes, I'm fine. Honestly" I say, beginning to feel less embarrassed whilst forming a slight smile.
"All is well then" Louis says charmingly.
I naturally laugh a little out of embarrassment and nervousness. There is an awkward pause as I look into his light blue eyes. I see that same look of curiosity and adrenaline I saw the first time we met. I can't help but wonder if he's remembering that moment too or if he is just noticing some green grass stains on my cheeks after my fall?
"Well, what's your friends name Olivia?" Louis finally says, breaking the silence.
"Annie, her names Annie" I say nervously.
"Hello Annie!" Louis says to her.
"hey there" she replies, in such a relaxed manner I can't help but feel extremely jealous of.
"come and meet the boys" Louis says as he approaches them. Annie follows him and I follow behind.
ANNIE'S POV
I follow Louis until we reach the others, who are all sitting on the lush green grass. I see Niall first. He is sitting cross-legged on the grass holding an acoustic guitar. He gives us a friendly smile and it makes me feel more at ease, although I am already surprisingly taking all this really well, unlike poor Olivia. I then cross my eyes over to Liam and Zayn who have not yet noticed that we are standing over them. They seem to be in some deep meaningful conversation. I then shift my gaze to him. The handsome, curly-headed boy who knocked me over that lovely Spring day a few months ago. I look at his face, he looks exactly that same as he did that day, although he seems to be studying something carefully. I try to figure out what it is and then realize his eyes are placed on me. I begin to feel slightly awkward and turn to face Olivia, to act as if I hadn't noticed. I don't even think he realized I noticed him though because, although I'm not looking, I can still feel his piercing green eyes burning on my skin. I wonder what he's thinking.
"This is Olivia and Annie" Louis introduces us to the boys. "I thought they'd maybe like to hang out with us for a while"
"cool" replies Niall, grinning.
They other boys mutter things but I don't really hear them properly. Something along the lines of 'pleased to meet you'. Louis perches on the grass and I do the same, sitting in between him and Niall. Olivia stands for a moment and we all stare up at her.
"Are you gonna sit down Olivia?" I ask her, whilst laughing.
"aw yeah, I was just looking at the flowers" she replies, trying to act relaxed.
"So where are you guys from?" Asks Liam.
"oh, just a small town up in Scotland, not very exciting" I reply.
"that sounds cool, what brings you here?" Asks Zayn.
"Well, we both recently got new jobs, as professional dancers for concerts and stuff like that. We auditioned a while back and then found out we got the job a few months later. So now we live here, in London." I explain.
"Aw, wow. Maybe you'll end up being dancers for us someday" Louis says, chuckling.
"yeah, maybe" I say.
"you wish" Olivia blurts out.
Thankfully they all just laugh at this along with us.
"So what are you guys doing here?" questions Olivia.
"Well, we like to just take some time out to mess around and rehearse and this is always a pretty quiet place. Not to mention the beautiful scenery." Liam replies.
"So, you guy live here?" She asks.
"yea, we all do" Zayn says.
I look at my watch and notice the time. It's 12.30, already!? I rise up to my feet.
"I'm really sorry but we were planning on going out for lunch and then to check a few things with our new job, so we'd better go now, we don't want to be late" I say.
I can see the heart broken look on Olivias face but I drag her to her feet anyway.
"Awww, well hopefully we'll see you around sometime soon" says Louis, staring at Olivia.
"hopefully!" she repiles.
Before leaving I turn to see Harry, who still holds that look on his face. As if he's concentrating really hard on something. I couldn't help but notice he hadn't said a thing and had just been in his own mysterious world.
