Taehyung swung his feet, shoes barely scrapping the grass from his spot on the bench as he watched Jimin run through the choreography for the tenth time. He wasn't bored nor was he forced to go with Jimin to the park, he just went to watch.
Taehyung watched as Jimin danced, not only with his body but with his soul. He had always been fascinated with how Jimin controls and contorts his body with ease. It was almost as if he didn't have to think before he danced, like his body was reacting with the rhythm instead of to the rhythm. Most dancers Taehyung had seen danced to the rhythm- their moves obviously choreographed, forced, and perhaps even a fraction of a beat behind the rhythm as if they were listening to cues.
But Jimin, Taehyung thought, danced with the rhythm- his next move always in motion and always on time. He doesn't have to listen, his body already knows what to do, where to go. And frankly, Taehyung doesn't know why he practices so much. He especially doesn't know why Jimin is so hard on himself if he makes a small mistake.
"Jiminie," Taehyung giggled as he walked over to his friend who was currently scolding himself "you've practiced a lot today. Let's go to river, the one with the little waterfalls!"
And Taehyung could have sworn his heart stopped when Jimin smiled at him. "Let's go."
Jimin walked beside Taehyung as they made their way to the river. They were silent, but it was a nice silence.
"Taehyung? Do you think my dance looks good?" Jimin asked as he watched Taehyung dip his toes in water.
"It looks better than good," he assured with a grin on his face. Taehyung discarded his shirt, shoes, and shorts on a small log before he ran into the water to cool off. "Get in, Jiminie!"
To Taehyung, the water isn't very deep as it reaches his chest in the deepest part. But to Jimin, that's deep. That's up to his neck and he's not exactly the strongest swimmer. But that wasn't a concern of Taehyung's. He could save Jimin if he suddenly couldn't swim like Ji-Hoo did for Jan-Di in 꽃보다 남자 (Boys Over Flowers).
He beckoned for his friend again, but Jimin sat stubbornly on the bank. Taehyung was disappointed, to say the least, and decided to look for things under the water. He took the dive.
The water was pretty clear, clear enough to where Taehyung could open his eyes underwater and look for treasures. He picked up a watch, an otter box, a ring, and a necklace with a pearl on it. He came back up to the surface and took a deep breath as he shook the water from his hair.
"Look what I found," he was all too excited to show Jimin his cool discoveries. He stood in the now waist-high water and dropped the items beside Jimin. "You can have this, this, and this," he said pointing to the watch, ring, and necklace with the single pearl.
"Tae, you found it, you should keep it," Jimin laughed as he inspected the items that were displayed beside him.
"No I want you to have them. If you won't come in and find things then you'll get what I give you. Come here," Taehyung was pouting as he pulled Jimin by the shirt so he could put the necklace around his neck. He liked how it looked, a diamond wearing a pearl.
"Thank you, Tae. I'll come in."
The smile on Taehyung's face stretched from ear to ear when Jimin placed his clothes, shoes, and necklace on the log. There was still a look of uncertainty on Jimin's face, so Taehyung held out his hand to help him in the water.
"Look," Taehyung giggled as he poked Jimin's belly button that was submerged underwater. "You're so short, Jiminie." Jimin shoved Taehyung playfully, but their linked hands didn't allow the taller boy to go very far.
