The news was spread all over the world that there is now hope for those who suffers in cancer. There were a lot of news broadcasters stated that humanity is now immune by cancer. We will now live like sharks, because, sharks are immune to cancer for they have a strong immune system.
Today is the shipping of the first batch of the newest creation of Haven's Good Co., the vaccines of HVNS52-24. The first shipping is on South America then for the next three hours, the ships will move into some parts in Europe.
The government of every country payed the half profit of the shipments while our company got the other half of it. About the medicines and vaccines with HVNS52-24 is buyed by every government in 70/30 price, that means the bargain of our company into our government officials is less 30% than it's real price.
Some of the board member in our meeting before releasing and asking for legalisation of the drug decided that it should be free or unprofitable when it goes to our government because, it is for the better future and present for us but, most of the board don't want those 'trashy' words and they want to be paid by a huge price because this thing is something to be 'purchased'.
At the meeting, there were a lot of arguments between... between two different people, the one who knows the best and the one who know for their best. In that situation, Mr. Paste whispered something into my ear...
"Make a move kid..."
After seeing those bastards exchanging insults in each other, I clear my throat and slam the long table with all of my might.
"All eyes on me!" This is my first time to confront insane people that is higher in my position.
Their gazes jerk upon me with a confused and embarassed face. "You--- You are not highschool student anymore..." Actually, that is my first time meeting those people and speaking to them in this kind of way is kind of humiliating myself. "This is just a simple matter to decide, you call yourself professionals while you argue and spit dirty words?" I tried to sound brave with my deep and pure voice and it works, they realise the situation and how simple this thing is.
I need to be fair, so, I need to tell words and spit the decision that won't hurt anyone. "Every one of you have their own reason but that doesn't mean that you need to crash other's reasons." They nod simultaneously. Fuck, this is so awkward.
"I'll let you decide the right thing, Mr. Singer." Mr. Paste saved me from sweating my embarassment.
"We will going to sell our product into the government and into the whole world and we will earn a lot of bucks here so we need to be fair. Our price is..."
The smell of a sweet pancake invited me in our kitchen where my wife and daughter cooks our breakfast.
"Daddy!" Her small voice yelled into joy. My little girl hop and I lift her up to kiss her on her rosy cheeks.
"Goodmorming to this girl!" She giggled.
"Go on, Jack. Have a seat, your daughter and I cooked our breakfast..." Rose said.
"Oh! Daddy! Mommy and I made a pancake!" I put her down and she grab me into the table where my young brother sits while reading the newspaper.
"Goodmorning." He greeted monotonously.
"Oy there, Jared." I elbowed him.
"Things are getting better to your job, I guess." He lift his cup of coffee and blow mildly on it.
"Yes. How 'bout you?"
"My study is always good--- great, if you insist." He furrowed an eyebrow, smirking.
"Oh yeah? How about...? How about your status with our girl next door?" I tease him, making him blush.
"What? Seriously? Rose, did you tell him about Elizabeth?" Grumpy as always.
Rose turn her gaze upon us "What? No, Im not." She laughed then she turn her attention back into Lili who is taking some licks into a chocolate syrup that her mom hand her.
"Tss. Don't gossip, Jack." He warned me.
"Sure, brother..." I winked that makes him blush more.
It's actually seven-thirty on the clock and I need to go to work at eight so, I ate my pancake for ten minutes with some laugh and teasing. My morning routine, if you insist.
Rose handed me my eyeglasses with a grin on her face, giving me a soft and quick kiss on my cheek.
"Daddy, you will go now?" Lili asked with her puppy, blue eyes.
I look her down and smiled. "Yes, honey and promise me, you will do your best for today, yes?" I prick her nose and she flinched.
"Jack, I'll go now!" Jared yelled from the front door.
"And if you promise me that you do your best, your gift will be such a very wonderful gift." I stated and her face turn to a bright and wide smile and made my lips turn into a smile.
"Yes, because next week is..." Rose from the kitchen table, clearing our done plates.
"Lili's birthday!" Rose and I yelled simultaneously, like a four year-old kids.
"Yay!" I giggled.
Suddenly and unexpectedly, Lili turn her head down then turn her gaze in my height, pouting. "But, you do have work next week, right?"
"Huh?" I flinched in with her voice cracked.
Rose approached us and I kneel down to face my daughter dissapointment.
"No, dad will be here, honey. Daddy, will throw you a party... with your friends." Rose tried to comfort her while I mimmick my wife's words.
"Yeah... with your friends. I promise that---."
"But, last time you also promised that you will come home when my birthday comes and... but you were not because, mommy said you were in your work." My five year-old daughter words makes me swallow thickly.
I lift her chubby and pouty face and smiled. "Not this time, Lili. Daddy won't go to work on your birthday and I won't promise because daddy will do it, okay?"
"Hooray!" Rose tickles her while she giggle joyfully. "You heard that? Daddy will make it this time! Don't be sad, okay?"
She nods.
"Awe, our little girl is going to smile!" I tease and when I saw her joyful smile again, I swear to myself that I will make it and give her the best fifth-birthday party.
"Okay, so daddy will go to work now, yes? Be good." I tap her head and she nod with a grin.
"See you later, daddy!" My two girls wave.
I arrived at our building seventeen minutes late so, I rush into Mr. Paste's office to receive my first job order from the boss.
I push the glass door in the old man's office, hands were trembling and heart pumping wildly in excitement.
I never expected to enter this office since I was just a researcher and leader of our group in Haven's good but now, as a future owner of this company, I feel different. I feel like Im special... again.
