It's been three months since she had broken up with her last boyfriend - her 3 year streak of being in a secure relationship broken the second she saw her man on his knees for another man.
Honestly, the fact that he had kept his sexuality hidden from her for the length of their relationship (including the short time they were engaged during one drunken night) hurt a lot more than discovering he was cheating on her.
Explaining the reason behind the relationship's failure to their friends had also been excruciatingly embarrassing. Although she was aware that she couldn't have influenced his 'change' in sexuality (as he confessed he had known he was gay since he was 15, the same time their friendship has solidified and she had started to develop some feelings for him), telling her friends that her boyfriend of 3 years was gay was not exactly something she had enjoyed doing.
She locked herself in her room for the remainder of her holiday (time coincidentally allocated for a joint trip to Majorca with her ex). Her best friend Claire was starting to get extremely worried and suggested a night out to rid bittersweet emotions off. That was how she had found herself in a cheap bar somewhere in Manhattan, drinking knock-off Prosecco.
As she was timidly gazing towards the crowd of writhing bodies, a male figure had caught her eye. The person behind Claire was a young man, Asian, handsome as hell. He was clad in a tight dark shirt and pants which all looked as immaculate as the day they were obtained.
Her friend unfortunately noticed her sudden pique of interest and swivelled round on her chair, almost choking on her drink as she saw the guy. She hastily beckoned him over and he surprisingly obliged, dragging his friend who was almost as equally attractive.
Bingo, she thought, one for me and the other for Claire.
Once they were close enough, she could detect the scent of an exquisite cologne lingering in the air. She shut her eyes and subconsciously made a little stride forwards. The smell was sufficient to surge her mind with endorphins.
She glanced downward as if to check her charm bracelet and in doing so scanned his hands for a wedding ring, none.
She turned back, granting herself a moment to squeal as Claire already started flirting with the other guy. She was grateful that she hadn't made a move on her new potential man.
She faintly heard their introductions, taking note of the two foreign names - Jongin and Sehun. Granted she didn't know which name belonged to whom, she thought that both names would sound as equally sensual on the tip of her tongue.
Gosh, get a grip.
With a slow exhale she turned to face the them with a practised seductive smile plastered on her face. She considered how to begin a discussion: coughing, blacking out, dropping something on his feet. Without acknowledging she had framed a choice she turned, her wrist trinket now in her grasp.
Just before releasing it right under him, the blonde guy next to him threw his arm around his shoulder. The two men traded a doe-eyed look, the somewhat subdued smile on one face precisely reflected on the other.
Love.
Damn it. She twisted her fingers tight around the silver bracelet on her hands and smiled bitterly. She convinced herself that the fact that he was taken and attracted to a different gender did not hurt. Not at all.
Actually, it hurt a lot.

I know, I know... That was such a plot twist!
I was just having such SeKai moments today that I thought why not?!
To compensate for the unexpected ending, here are some pics of what they looked like in the bar ;)
