~~ next day~~
Anna gets down from her stairs into her garden. She sighed in disappointment as she she wanted her wedding to be more majestic. She linked hand with her dad as she walked down to the pastor and Alex. Her dad stands beside her. This is a rather small wedding as it consisted of only Anna's dad, Alex's mom, Alex's sister and Martin. Anna was slightly surprised to see Martin but she ignored this for later matter.
" We are gathered together on this beautiful afternoon to share with Anna and Alex as they exchange vows of their everlasting love. Who gives this woman to be married to this man?" the pastor asks as he motions towards Anna's dad.
He replies, "Her father.". Then he takes Anna's hand and places it in Alex's and goes back to his position.
The pastor continues. "As Anna and Alex take their vows today, we are privileged to witness joyous love of a new family, a family that will be nourished and nurtured through devotion of two separate individuals growing together through common bonds of love.
May their marriage bring them the peace, joy, comfort and contentment that is known in the hearts of all God's children. And may Alex and Anna both look forward to each new season of their marriage, just as the world looks forward to each new season of the year. For all seasons bring with them their own special moments and memories."
" An essential requirement of a good marriage is a strong bond of real friendship and trust. Alex and Anna, your love for each other will grow deeper with every passing day, but it's important to remember that you love stand on a foundation of genuine, mutual affection and respect for each other. To truly love each another person is to be willing to accept both strong points and their weak points, with equal measures of understanding and respect."
" The vows you are about to exchange, will serve as a verbal representation of the non-verbal emotions that are as real as any thing that can be seen, heard or touched. For it is not words that you will speak today that will bond you together as one, but the strength of the love and commitment found deep in your soul. Let us pray..." . They all bow down our heads and pray.
Once they were done praying, the pastor speaks again. "At this time, I'll ask you, Alex, and you, Anna to face each other and take each other's hands." They both turn to face each other as Anna places her hands in Alex's.
"Alex, will you take Anna to be your wife, your partner in life and your one true love? Will you cherish her friendship and love her today, tomorrow and forever?" Will you trust and and honor her, laugh with her and cry with her? Will you be faithful through good times and bad, in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?".
Alex nods his head as he look into Anna's eyes and says "I will.". He grabs the ring from the little pillow his sister was holding. Anna extends her left hand for him to put it on. The pastor now turns to look at Anna.
" Anna, will you you take Alex as your husband, your partner in life and your one true love? Will you cherish his friendship and love him today, tomorrow and forever? Will you trust him and honor him, laugh with him and cry with him? Will you be faithful in good times and bad, in sickness and in health as long as both shall live?"
She nods her head and says "I will.". She takes the other ring from Alex' sister and slips it on on Alex's finger.
" I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."
Anna looks up in surprise, the two awkwardly hug and dislocate. Her dad walks up to her and congratulates her and hugs his beloved daughter one last time. " Dad I'll be fine", she comforts her dad as she roughly brushes a tear away from his face.
Anna and Alex both climb into a car. "So I know its stupid to ask right now but what's your last name?", Anna asks with a puzzled look. "Alex Martin Jr". A cold chill runs down Anna's spine as she decides to look at the passing scenery.
