PART 5

The next morning I felt so sore. It feels like I had carried hollow blocks on my back all night long.

"Alli, you okay?"

"Sure, Dan... just a little bit umm... tired," I yawned.

"Where were you last night?" she narrowed her eyes suspiciously.

"At home!" I faked innocent wide eyes.

"Of course, she's at home. Why wouldn't she?" Drew intervened.

Dan looked at the two of us, and then sighed. She smiled a knowing smile that neither Drew nor I understand. She strutted to her locker, while Drew and I fell back behind, waiting for her. It was Monday, and it's sooo boring I'm afraid I might die.

"How was last night?" Drew asked, his eyebrows scrunched up in worry.

"Cool... and so... easy."

"Really?"

"Shit, Drew, what's there to fuss about? I trained longer than you! You treat me like a six year old," I pouted.

"Sure, sure. You should be glad someone's worried for you," he defended himself. I rolled my eyes.

"Someone's worried for whom?" Danna asked, welcoming herself back in the conversation.

"No one," Drew said.

"What were you talking about, you two?"

"Nothing!" we replied in unison.

We were near at the school door at that time, walking to the school's left wing. Just then, some hullaballoo was happening in front of us.

The world stilled, and people's eyes stared fixedly at the door. Someone's entering the school's huge double doors.

Jaws slacked, especially those of the girls, I noted. The silence is so palpable that you could almost taste it.

I forced my eyes to look at the doors.

There was a demigod entering, parting the swarm of students like Moses parting water.

He was a beautiful piece of art. He has this white-blond hair that was halfway through his ears. He was wearing sunglasses, tight black shirt, a black jacket thrown carelessly over his shoulder, designer jeans, and leather boots. And his face is so charming. Angelic. Unearthly. He has a straight nose, and his skin pale. His drop-dead gorgeous body looks like an obra maestra of a sculptor. You can see his muscles rippling. Sluts around me were drooling. Dan's mouth forms a perfect 'O'. Sara Castro tried to bump on him, but he neatly dodged her attack.

And he was heading right towards me.

He stopped in front of me, and smiled. He has boyish dimples on either side of his oh-so-kissable mouth. He was practically glowing. He took off his sunglasses.

He has mesmerizing gray eyes.

"Hey, mind if I ask you where the office is?"

I stared, his gorgeous eyes clashing with my violet ones. "Yes," I finally answered, the demigod frowned, and Dan nudged me. "I mean go straight ahead and then turn left."

"Thanks," he said in that sexy voice of his. "By the way, I'm Kent. Kent Black."

He extended his hand.

And again, I stared. Dan nudged me once more.

I accepted his hand, cringing. "Allison Clark."

"Nice meeting you... Al," he said, grinning. He strolled to the office.

And... Sara Castro is glaring at me. If looks could kill, I probably dropped down on the floor just now, swimming on my own pool of blood.

"Oh my god, Alli he's so cute!!!!!" Dan practically screamed at my ear.

The hall suddenly burst into life, the voices of dozens of students mingling together. All of them talking about the mysterious and handsome new kid.

Drew caught my eye, and he looked at me warily. "He's an ass," he said.

"You're just jealous," Dan said, offended. "And you have a right to be, considering that your days as the hottest jackass in school are numbered."

Dan continued blabbering at my ear and Drew just stayed quiet as we headed at our first class.

It's not his splendor that caught me really. I'm always surrounded by beauty that I'm almost frickin' sick of it. No, surely not. It was another thing.

He is a vampire.
