My name is Peridot Diamond Green, former officer and female adult.
Former? Yeah, that's what I said. I used to be Officer Green, working for the local police department of Beach City. What happened? Well, I'll get to that later.
I used to be the nerd of high school as said by the labels given to all by the 'popular' kids back then. I didn't use to live in Beach City when I attended that high school, but instead about a hundred miles away in a far more populated city. I never liked it there. There was always too many people and all the people at school would just point and laugh as I walked by.
Back in high school I wasn't only called a nerd. I was called 'short', 'geek', and even 'dorito' due to the weird shape of my hair. I never liked it and sometimes could throw a few comebacks, especially one they would never know the meaning of. It was Clod, my secret word with my secret meaning.
Anyway, as I grew up I began to discover a job that people used to maoe fun of me even more. I wanted to be an officer! I wanted to work to protect humanity, even if most of humanity looked down on me. I would show them all!
I had planned to train for the police department of the city I once lived in, but then my parents announced that we were moving to a new city. This city was called Beach City. I was quite mad over the fact we had to move just because my parents wanted to, but they insisted that I should just train to work in the police department of Beach City.
As soon as we moved in, I signed up and began my training. It was hard with all the obstacles and tests that had to be ran, and most looked down on me for my height and more weak form. But as training advanced, I began to show that I was worth it.
I managed to pass and was assigned a real job. I was to patrol Beach City every other day for my shift, looking out for any wanted criminals or suspicious activities. I thought it would just be myself and myself only, but then he came.
His name was Jasper Quartz Diamond. He was a tall, bulk man who was clearly strong and athletic. Whenever he stood next to me or even sat next to me in the patrol car, I felt as if I was a small shrub next to an immense tree.
It made sense why the department assigned Jasper as my partner. They thought that my small, pathetic form would never be able to take on any dangerous criminals or situations. I do admit that I did feel safer with Jasper as my partner, but the guy was extremely demanding and snarky.
Our job continued on for about two months. Two months of always be snapped at to pay attention or do something useful. It was quite exhausting, but at least I was also able to move out of my parents house and into my own apartment as well. I did feel alone though...a lot.
Life continued on normal and quiet. That was until one day when this story began, a story that would change my life forever.
Jasper and I were assigned to a case to find a wanted criminal. We were pulled into the departments office one day and handed the picture of the criminal.
The moment I laid eyes on that picture, a new path was taken for the future.
