She knew she would have to face him again one day but, she didn't think it would be this soon. She walked head held high she had to be brave and strong. She walked and it felt like she had been walking for hours but, only seconds had faded before her she was walking slow and her breathing was heavy, try as she might she didn't think she could be brave. Then she just stopped she looked at Henrik and who had been walking behind her.
"I don't think I can do this" she told him in a panic almost only a hint of it in her voice
He put his hands on her shoulders and responded with "if you aren't ready then leave. I can win this war with or without his help, we can leave and tell the men that he told you no"
She shook her head no she wouldn't do that to them if she went back and told them her father said no then it would be because he truly said no, she wasn't going to lie to them. She turned herself back to the door that was in-front of her and she turned into her old self. Her child self where she was never allowed in the room if her father didn't bring her with him, she reminded herself that she wasn't that girl anymore. With that she opened the door, he was sitting there like he was waiting for this. She remembered her mother and the stories she would tell her
Her mother's stories never had happy endings nor were they happy in a whole.
"Mama, that can't be the end he can't die their supposed to be true loves" her young self had whined
Her mother looked down at her and asked "then how should the story go"
"He should live and they live happily ever after, and pretty song should be written about them"
Her mother only smiled and replied to her "Oh my sweet girl, pretty things don't have happy stories, doesn't mean they won't have happy moments, you must take the pain too see the beauty"
Her younger self was confused "does that mean I'll never be happy?"
"You'll be happy my sweet one, but sometimes you won't and sometimes the world will break you and the beautiful outside of you will be a mask go to pain inside, the pain you'll be able to hide-" her mother has told her
Her father had cut her mother off "Talia my love, why do you never tell her sweet stories?" He smiled and kissed her
"Because love, the world doesn't have sweet stories with happy endings and I won't fill her head with lies"
Her father lead down and whispered "My little love don't listen too your mother, the world does have happy endings you just have to fight for them" and her father kissed her head
She didn't know what to say or even if she should say something so she stood there look for the right words in her mind, nothing. He walked over to her, she never saw any similarities with her father she looked like her mother and her mother was dead. He smiled when he walk finally in front of her, and he hugged her. It took her a moment, but she hugged him back. She missed him he was her father after all she knew this would only last a moment so she took it all in. Then he let go and asked her "What do you need? You would only come back home if it was serious"
She looked down then directly at him "the army, your army, I've agreed to help Jon Snow win back the north and-"
She was cut off by him "Robb Stark half brother? Why would I help him, I gave the Starks a chance to win the north back and all I asked was for Robb to marry you, why should I help now?"
"I agreed to help him, I came to ask for your help if you don't want to help all you need to tell me is 'no' and I'll leave, father" she told him she had reminded herself she was here for her men to give them their best chance at survival and that's what she was going to do with of with out her father
He looked at her and walked back to his chair, "you'll fight with the men won't you?"
She nodded her head agreeing with his statement to what he had said. "I'll help with my army, but only to keep you safe, if anything happened to you the gods only knows what your mother would do to me when my time comes"
