Prologue - Unexpected

"Fine." I turned around, and walked straight out the way I came. My vision was blurry as I walked out of the apartment building. I didn't care where I was going, as long it was away from here. Maybe even out of the country. I couldn't even walk straight.

Stupid tears!

Stupid boy!

Stupid me!

I couldn't help but sob loudly. I'm not even going to look back, what's the point? Edward broke up with me all because I wasn't "sexy enough". Great way of making me feel great about myself, jerk.

"Watch where you're going!" people yelled as I walked by. Have they been looking into the sun for too long? Because they surely couldn't see my tears if they kept saying that. Blindly, I felt my way along the walls of buildings. Someone shoved their way past me, knocking me to my right. There wasn't a wall there to protect my fall, instead, there was a flight of stairs leading down into one of the very few subways my small city had.

"Ow," I cried out. More tears fell as I hit my knee, elbow, head, and other body parts. I hit about three more steps, and on the last one, I hit my rib cage on the left side of my body. Pain overtook everything that got damaged. I laid there letting them fall, hoping someone would come for me. Well, this just proves that bad luck actually exists on Friday the 13th.

I laid there for about two minutes, taking staggered breaths. Footsteps walked around me, some kicking me in the process. My eyes clamped shut, my hands went into clenched fists, knuckles turning white. "Oh my God," a deep voice whispered loud enough for people around us to hear. Hands carefully lifted my up, forcing me to my back. "You'll be okay," he stated with confidence as he moved my blonde curls out of my face. Slowly I started drifting into unconsciousness. The last thing I remember was seeing intoxicatingly green eyes. They weren't too dark but not to light. They were just. . .perfect.

"I hope she wakes up soon," a deep voice came through the half-open door.

"Dude. You found her on the ground in the subway." Another voice came from the hallway. It was a little deeper than the last.

"So," guy number 1 snap-whispered back.

"Well just hurry back to the hotel because we have a concert in 5 hours." I heard footsteps walking away, and a door creak open. More footsteps came from my left.

"Wake up soon please," guy number one said similar to the previous conversation. My eyes slowly opened, to see a boy with dark, curly hair watching tv. I inhaled a long deep breath, and let it out slowly. His green eyes looked at me. "You're up," he exclaimed as he jumped up from the chair beside me rushing to my side.

"What happened? Where am I," I replied all at once, trying to sit up but pain shot up my spine, making me wince. "Why am I in pain? Who are y-"

"Shhh," he cut me off. "Doctor says you need to lay down. I'm going to get him. Let him know you're awake." He got up and was at the door when I stopped him.

"You're coming back right?"

He nodded replying, "Of course." After he smiled, he walked down the hall leaving the door halfway shut like before. I laid back and waited. My eyes scanned the room curiously. There was one big window, with the curtain open letting lots of sunshine in. Underneath the window, there was a couch. It had a pillow and a blanket on it, making me think that the boy I just saw had slept here.

There was a knock at the door, making me snap back to reality. "Hello, how are you feeling?" A man in his late 50's walked up to me, grabbing my arm lightly to look at it.
