The forest was black. The canopies blocking out all of the luminous shining moon and the leaves whispering an eerie tune. I was lost. Lost in a place where life only knew darkness. A place where life was evil.
I heard them before I saw them. The snuffling of an evil life form and the gentle padding of paws on the forest floor. The dark silhouette wasn't easy to see but it was definitely there and so were the other four equally large wolves flanking it on either side. Its eyes sparkled wickedly and drool escaped its gaping jaw. He was hungry and I was going to be its meal. I was frozen to the spot and fixated by him so I didn't see the other giants spread out to surround me until it was too late.
Now I could see each one, all eyes intently staring at me hungrily, all jaws showing that same wicked grin. They were going to enjoy playing with me first. Panic started to swell through me as it dawned on me that this was the end. My end.
The wolves started to advance. I thought back to my family: my mom and my brother. I was all they had. What would this do to them? But there was no time to think anything more. Before my eyes closed, I saw the wolf lunge.
