Albany Minka is not your typical blonde-haired, blue-eyed, white woman. She's got something coursing through her veins that no one would ever think of Asgardian and Greek God blood. She lives under the radar on her massive ranch in the middle of Tex...
I want to be with someone who dreams of doing everything in life, and nothing, on a rainy Sunday afternoon. -Atticus
"Mom!" KD yelled into the yard, knowing that no matter where she was, she'd still be able to hear him.
"Yes, my child?" she replied as if she was the air.
"Aro, wants to know if you're almost done with the hunt?" KD asked quietly.
"Tell your uncle that he knows the answer to that question" she seemed to chuckle.
"Yes, ma'am," KD smiled and ran back inside the house.
"What did your mother say?" Aro asked while he and Rivera made dinner, knowing that she wouldn't be home for at least another week while she was on her traditional hunt.
"She said you'd know the answer already," KD laughed.
"I have lived with you for five years, and she always replies that way," Aro laughed, knowing the woman that had become his sister would forever tell him that.
"Then why do you even ask, babe?" Rivera asked as she set the table.
"Because maybe one day the answer won't be the same," he exclaimed with a huff.
"Uncle, it's never going to change because she takes this hunt very seriously. It feeds the meat-eaters on the ranch for the year" Apollo smiled.
"Why doesn't she allow anyone else to go with her?" Aro asked in frustration.
"Because it allows her to get in touch with Mother Earth, appreciate the sacrifices the animals that feed us make. Apollo and I will go with her as our coming of age test around the time we turn 18," KD spoke, sitting down at the table for dinner.
"How are you and the baby feeling, Auntie?" Apollo asked Riv as she carefully sat down since she was about eight months pregnant.
"She is good, but I feel like a whale," Rivera sighed as Aro put dinner on everyone's plates.
"Have you chosen her name yet?" KD asked with bright, curious eyes.
"Not yet, but I think soon" Aro smiled at his wife once he was sitting.

Albany quietly sat and cooked a freshly killed quail for dinner as the sun began to set over the woods as she enjoyed the sounds of the lifeforms around her. The yearly hunting trip was one of her favorite things to do because it meant Albany had time to reconnect with her ancestors' traditions.
Growing up, all Albany knew about her ancestors was that they were a part of the original Ottsmen that settled in Canada before Columbus had "discovered" the Americas. When she about 16, Achilles had agreed to help her get her DNA tested to find out where her family was from. The test confirmed that she was twenty-five percent Norweigan, twenty-five percent Scandinavian, twenty-five percent Scottish, and twenty-five percent Irish.
