Chapter 4: our secret relationship -2

I saw him in front of my faculty building. He was busy with his project. He wore his favorite cap and seemed like directing people from filming major. I passed him. I slower my walk but he didn’t see me. I knew his reason for not picking me up. I thought from pale but excited expression in his face, he must be worked for this project from night. There was a slight regretting in my heart. Why I didn’t spend more time last night. Perhaps he wanted to discuss about his movie as usual. He had always shared his life with me. Anything that happened to him in one day, he had always shared with me.

I didn’t realize that I stood and looked at him for a long time until Sunny poked my shoulder. “Taeyeon, what are you doing here? I thought you will not interest with him?”

“I didn’t interest with him. I just interest with what they are doing. They seemed like making a pretty good movie.” I answered Sunny. Of course I didn’t interest with Stephan Hwang. My life with him in this more than year was more than enough.

Sunny giggled and said, “Taeyeon, you are so late. Everyone here knows exactly how capable Stephan is. If you see him in the series or TV, you will think he is just a typical playboy who just becomes an actor because of his look. He doesn’t, Taeyeon.”

I didn’t say anything. I knew exactly how capable he is. How his eyes shine so brightly every time we talk about movie. His dream is to join in a movie and someday he will love to direct a movie him self.

I looked at him again. Then his eyes met my eyes. His eyes seemed like wanted to say apologize for not picking me up. He kept looking at me until his friend asked him to back to their project again.

Sunny suddenly said something that made me surprise. “It seemed like he was looking at you, Taeyeon.”

Of course I didn’t want Sunny knew. I just denied it. “Of course not. Perhaps that was just your feeling. Perhaps, he looked into someone else.”

“OMG! Could he look at me?” She screamed happily and started to fix her make up. Sunny will never change.

“I thought it was you that messaged me in the early morning and said how sweet and tender Yunho that you met last night in the karaoke.” I smiled and started walking.

Sunny followed me. She still had an answer. “People love changing. Just like one of water properties right? Water always fills its place. Me too same. Every time the situation changed, I will just let it flow.”

“Play girl.” I .

Sunny just smiled.

We met Yuri and headed into our classroom. My mind was still on Stephan. I haven’t talked to him until this morning. I just didn’t like if I have any problem with him. He was the one that I worried. The last time we had fight before this, he drove to his apartment drunk and almost got an accident.

Classes for today were over. When I turned my cell phone on, there were many messages from him. Such as:

Taeyeon, why did you not reply my message? Are you angry?

From 3 am, we had to make scene in a sunrise, that’s why I didn’t pick you up this morning.

Taeyeon…. reply my messages!!!! *__*

Taeyeon, I will come to your apartment tonight. You have to open your door for me. I will not go if you don’t open your door even I have the key.”

He could be so annoying, really. From his bunch of messages, he didn’t even mention one word. Sorry. He made me so mad last night and he just thought about he didn’t pick me up this morning. Perhaps… Perhaps Mushroom existence didn’t have any value in front of him. Perhaps, if Mushroom is really Daniel he will let me go easily.

I kept looking on his messages. I didn’t know I had to answer it or not. Yuri’s voice woke me up. “Taeyeon, who was sending you message? You seemed so serious when you read them.”

I shook my head. “No one.”

“Yuri, perhaps those messages are from Daniel. Taeyeon, honestly, what happened last night when he drove you home?” Sunny smirked when she said that.

I kept walking without answering her question.

She kept bugging me to answer her question.

When I wanted to answer her question, in front of us there was Stephan with his friends. I pretended that I didn’t look him. I just continued walk. With handbook in my hand, I kept walking.

Suddenly I felt someone bumped into me. It was him. He made all my books fell.

“Sorry.” He helped me get my handbooks. Then he whispered to me when both of busy. “Are you angry with me?”

I didn’t answer him. I was angry because he even didn’t apologize with me. He said he like me but he couldn’t take off his arrogance.

When I was about to stand, his hand was holding my arm. That was our first encounter and his first touch in front of people. I yelled at him. “Why are you holding my arm?”

“You were about to fall. I just tried to help you.”

He made an excuse. I knew he just made an excuse. I thought when he held my arm; he was ready to tell everyone that actually we knew each other. “Come on Sunny, Yuri!”

I ran a bit so I didn’t need to see his face again.

Sunny and Yuri seemed weird with the situation. But they didn’t ask me about that. He knew exactly that when I was in a bad mood like this, better if they didn’t ask anything to me.

I came home alone. When I was heading to my apartment, I was also thinking about my relationship with Stephan. It didn’t build from love like other relationship. Perhaps it just built from ego. From me and from him. First, I was okay when we did this relationship; we knew it will be a backstreet relationship. But why I worried now about the status of this relationship?

When I entered my lobby apartment, I watched the TV there. There was press conference about a movie. I saw Stephan and Jessica. I thought, I had never known that Stephan will film a movie soon. Then I remembered, I was too sad last night until I didn’t pay attention to his words. Perhaps he came last night to celebrate his first movie.

I sat on the sofa in the lobby. I heard the press conference carefully. So, this movie will film soon. They didn’t reveal the storyline because the storyline made by Stephan self. I shook my head. What kind of girlfriend I am, I even didn’t know Stephan made a scenario. They also informed that Stephan picked the female lead by him self that made another speculation that actually Stephan had a true feeling for Jessica since before this, Stephan had never picked his partner.

I saw them. Stephan and Jessica smiled sweetly to each other. They didn’t deny or agree with the reporter’s speculation. Stephan said, everyone will know whether the gossip is true or not if they watch the movie. He promised everything will be clear after that. He also said, we couldn’t rush someone to fall in love. Perhaps in the journey of filming, they will fall in love. Who will know?

My tears dropped gradually. Perhaps, it was the perfect time to say goodbye to this relationship. I knew Stephan had always made a distance between him and his partner in the series, but in this press conference, he seemed so natural with Jessica. They kept joking to each other.

I walked to my room. I had to prepare my self. Stephan couldn’t know that I cried because of it. I had to be happy as usual. Every time he got a new job. We always celebrate it. I had to smile when he come and congratulates his new movie that has title: A Proposal for Future.

I looked into the mirror. I talked to my self. “Don’t worry Taeyeon, you still have Mushroom.”
