Chapter 6: My first real date

I was looking at my watch. Well, I thought I was coming a little bit earlier than I had to be. Today was my first date with Daniel. We constantly messaged to each other during this week.

I stood in front of the restaurant. American restaurant. Daniel said he will treat me today. Why I was so exciting today, it’s none other that today is my first date. Really. I had never had any boyfriend before Stephan and had Stephan as my boyfriend, made me didn’t feel normal things as a couple.

===Flashback===

“Come on, Stephan. Let’s go for eating something. Hamburger or pizza!” I held his hand, trying to drag him out from his apartment.

He still didn’t move from his sit. “Don’t be ridiculous Taeyeon. Beside, I have to learn for my script.”

I pouted my mouth and said, “Fine then. I will eat alone. I don’t need accompany from a mean boyfriend.”

He just answered with one sentence. “I’m not your real boyfriend. I’m just your guardian until your Mushroom come. Oh, well. I even didn’t know he really existed or not.”

I slammed his door. I really pissed with his attitude. Could he be meaner to me? I realized that I will not feel the real love relationship with him. Never.

Someone poked my shoulder. With the soft voice he asked me, “Thinking about something? Or someone perhaps?” He smiled at me.

I smiled back at him. “Finally you come?”

“Am I late?” He looked into his watch.

I grabbed his hand and said, “No, you are not. It just me that too exciting and came earlier.

I was glad that he didn’t refuse my grab. He even held my hand tighter. “If American value time so much so they never late, then Korean love to come earlier? Impressive.”

“American love to make a conclusion before knowing more.” I replied to him while walking to the restaurant.

“That’s why I want to know about Korea more. From you, so I didn’t make conclusion earlier than what I should to be.”

The waitress served the food to us. “Thank you (in english).” I told to the waitress.

“Another impressive ability that I don’t know from you.” Daniel told me while handing over chicken wing that we had in table.

“Thanks Daniel.” I took the chicken wing.”Well, just good morning or hello, my name is Kim Taeyeon, or thank you are simple sentences.”

“Who taught you those words? Even the accent is just perfect. That’s why I said it was impressive.” He continued eating while said that.

“Taeyeon, don’t cry anymore okay? Your grandmother is in heaven now.” A little boy placed a lily in a little girl’s ear. “Look, I think if your name is Lily it will be suit with you better. You and lily couldn’t be separated really. You look so beautiful.”

“Lily?” She stopped her crying and looked up into the boy.

Finally, after a couple of trying, the little boy could get the little girl’s attention. “Lily is usually using for a girl’s name.”
