You want me to do what now?! {Chapter 12}
Recap:
Then I thought about Chris. When we were together he showed me the same face full of love, had the same sort of possessiveness and sometimes he could bring me comfort but he could find it in himself to cheat on me and somehow, I knew that James wouldn't, even if he could.
I set my gaze on James, knowing he was too intent on his game to notice my staring and made the decision.

The boys came away, sweaty from their game and making friendly banter with each other while I just walked alongside them, occasionally contributing to the talk but my mind was elsewhere; I was making plans. I suddenly remembered James' little talent and quickly focused on thinking about mundane things that I had to do; like grabbing a coffee when we got in and taking care of my laundry. Just in time too. I could feel the same niggling sense in my head like back at the airport and I knew that he had noticed my detached state. I hastily pulled a slight smile onto my face and actually listened to what people were saying, waiting for when I had more privacy.
The day went on as normal, we talked, laughed, bantered and at the moment we were at the table, licking our lips for the meal that the chef was preparing. I glanced around at the lads and they were all staring at the kitchen door in anticipation. I chuckled quietly to myself; by the way they were going on you'd think that they hadn't eaten in months and were starving. Well they were werewolves; I suppose that they would have a big appetite. My chuckle hadn't roused anybodies attention so I just leant father back in my chair and fiddled absently with my fork.
Just as I was about to say something to cut the silence the dining room doors swung open and the kitchen staff hurried in with our hearty plates of shepherds pie with a side dish of veg. They set them down in front of us and we all tucked in; some more eagerly than others; meaning I was the only remotely civilised person at the table. I was half way through my meal when I realised that all the others were finished and patting their
stomachs but I ignored them and carried on.
"So, have you thought about any names?" Luke asked whilst placing his chin on his hand and his elbow on the table. I felt James tense beside me but I was just outright confused.
"What do you mean?" I asked, oh so attractively around a mouthful of parsnip whilst setting my fork down. David, Jeremy, Luke, Mitchell, Cole and Calvin all turned to stare at James with a horrified expression on their faces.
"You haven't told her?" Cole almost bellowed at James, obviously building up anger.
"Well, I didn't see the need to scare her." James muttered, casting his eyes to the table nervously. I tilted his chin up and shot him a questioning stare, getting a feeling that I wasn't going to like what he had to say. He took a deep breath before looking down into my eyes. "You know how I'm the alphas son?" I nodded briskly. "Well I'm going to take over..."
"But I thought that would be Calvin because he's the oldest." I cut him off.
"Well, our pack chooses the strongest of the alphas sons to take over," He explained patiently. "So when I become Alpha, I will need an heir." He finished cautiously, slightly leaning away, prepared to run whilst I processed what he meant. He needed an heir which meant that we would have to... well, you know. I stared thoughtfully at him for a second before picking my fork back up.
"Well, no shit." I murmured before shovelling some more food into my mouth. They all stared at me expectantly, waiting for the explosion that never came.
