Be still my heart 'cause it's freaking out,
Shining like stars 'cause we're beautiful,
You're all I see in all these places
You're all I see in all these faces
So let's pretend we're running out of time, of time- Neon lights by Demi Lovato

Breathing heavily, I made my way back to where Adam sat, eating what seemed like a pink macaroon, fixing something that seemed to be a pager.
Looking at him, I smiled slightly at how his dark and gloomy self contrasted with the bright colours behind him.
I had been on the dance floor with the girls for a while and I had finally decided to sit and give my feet a break.
Wayne wasn't around, probably on the roof top preparing the speech he was going to give to Eliza.
We had decided to do it on the rooftop because it was Eliza's favourite place in the whole school. The colours were perfect up there and the little rose garden added to it's beauty.
I had seen Eliza with Jordan a couple of times but never went to her because they were with the football team and I can't tolerate a single one of those idiots.
"Hey," I huffed, as I plopped in the empty seat next to Adam.
His eyes drifted from his pager to me and then back to the pager. "Hi," he unconsciously replied.
"Whatcha got there?" I finally asked leaning forward to peek, after waiting for him to say a little more than a greeting.
Without looking up, he answered, "It was a pager. But with Mr. Dash's help I'm working on making it a heart beat moniter because I need to keep my anger in check while practicing. It's not as hard as it seems and Mr. Dash seemed-"
I leaned a little more forward as he rambled on about his little project. Little did he notice that I was looking at him with a slightly adjourned mouth, not getting a single word.
Heck, at some point I wasn't even sure if he was speaking English or not.
"-and you probably weren't interested in a physics lesson," he gruffed and I nodded without hesitation.
"And I should probably put this back," he muttered, mostly to himself, seemingly embarrassed. "Probably," I mused with pursed lips watching him pocket the pager and the screwdriver.
The two of us looked at each other for a while and then I bursted in a fit of giggles. His chuckles soon joined in.
Sobering up slightly, I wiped a stray tear from the corner of my eye. Though the huge, scary smile on my face remained.
Adam looked behind me before standing up. He held his hand in my direction and in a totally non-characteristic way asked, "Do you want to dance?"
I bit my lower lip as I looked from his face to his hand and back in contemplation, surprised by his sudden change in personality.
After a heartbeat, I nodded. "Yeah. Sure," I breathed out, gingerly placing my hand in his.
He clasped it, helping me stand up and then lead me to the dance floor just as a slow song has started to play.
I couldn't help but feel giddy looking at our hands. He smiled as he stopped and turned around to face me.
I tentatively wrapped my arms around his neck and Adam slipped his hands around my waist, drawing me slightly closer.
