I was lowkey listening to Libby spill her feelings to Mario.I know I shouldn't be listening but I couldn't help it.
"Hey Ivan do you wanna go on a date with me tomorrow night?"I hear Libby say into her phone.I automatically run to katy's room.I open her door and she's watching 13 reasons why."hey ariella what's-"
"Libby just asked Ivan to go on a date with her!"I interrupt."she what?!"Katy asks,slightly angry."she was on the phone with him just a few seconds ago.I just heard her talking to mario about her liking both of the twins and not knowing which she liked more.she even said she and Ivan kissed."I spill.I know it's wrong to tell Katy libby's personal business but all I'm trying to do is follow girl code rule number 1:never ever EVER have a crush on the same person as your friend."I can't believe her.she can't like Ivan because I like him.it is breaking girl code."Katy rambles."that's why I came straight up here and told you.she likes them both but you like ivan."I reply."I'm gonna go down there and tell her she can't like Ivan."Katy says."wait,you don't know if he said yes to her or not.why don't you call him and ask him on a date."I suggest."good idea,i'll call him and ask him to go on a date and if he said no to her he'll say yes to me.and even if he did say yes to her,he might cancel on her for me."she says before she reaches across her bed and grabs her phone.she calls Ivan and puts it on speaker."hey Katy."he says when he answers the phone."hey are you busy tomorrow night?"Katy asks."um no,why?"he asks."do you want to go on a date with me tomorrow?"she asks confidently."sure why not."Ivan says."great see you tomorrow."she says before hanging up."looks like Ivan likes me more than Libby."Katy says,brushing her hair out of her face."congrats Katy I'm so happy for you."I exclaim.all while I feel like I'm betraying libby I had to do it before Katy found out herself."come on help me pick out an outfit for tomorrow,i gotta look extra cute for my date with Ivan."Katy says as she slips her flip flops on.we call an uber and go to the mall.she picks out a cute outfit that has a black skater skirt,pink crop tee,and white vans.we go home and I help her get her hair ready for tomorrow.after about two hours of doing her hair,and gets tired and goes to bed.I walk downstairs to where mario is,"okay okay,what about this?Ivan do you maybe want to go to the movies with me this weekend?"I over hear Libby asking Mario."hmmm,could be better.but it'll have to do.try again a couple more times,it needs to be perfect if you want him to say yes."Mario says."Mario we've been going over this for hours.I'll call him tomorrow after school.it's almost 12 in the morning.I need sleep because I'm going to be extra cranky at school and I won't be able to function properly."she complains."just a few more girls,then I'll let you go to sleep.okay?"he asks."okay."she replies.I could,tell she was tired by the way her voice sounded.she continues to repeat the same sentence,each with small changes over and over until Mario says she can stop.i run to my room and close the door behind me.I can't believe I told Katy Libby asked Ivan on a date when she didnt.I lay on my bed and think about the problem until I fall asleep.
