"Crazy first day?" My dad arched an eyebrow, reaching for the ketchup. We were sitting at our table in Pop's, the diner my dad always took me to eat since he couldn't cook to save his life.

I took a sip out of my milkshake, "You can say that again."

The welcome bell caused me to look up, two guys walked in. Their heavy boots and tattooed arms made them quite easy to identify. My dad turned around, mumbling something under his breath.

The door closed and they walked over to the counter, one of them was Grayson. He leaned against the pinball machine, the other guy was much older. Like my own dad's age, maybe a tad bit more on the younger side.

"Sean Dolan." My dad scoffed. I quirked an eyebrow as he took notice of us and began walking over.

"My oh my sheriff, that your daughter?" He chuckled, he had one of those smiles that gave you chills.

"Dolan, you're on the wrong side of town buddy." My dad informed him, Grayson was still lazily drooped over the pinball machine, but he was watching us. Well, he was watching me.

I fidgeted in my seat as my dad and Sean continued with their remarks. Something about Grayson made him so mysterious, maybe it was the way he stared at me, it was like he was looking through me. If looks could kill I'd be six feet under already.

"Hey um dad? I think I'm gonna head home now. I've still got a lot of unpacking to do." I said reaching for my bag.

"Well I can drive you home now if you want?" He stood up as soon as I did, giving Sean a dirty look.

"No that's okay, I'll walk." I gave him a soft smile, shuffling out of the table.

"Be safe, I'm not going to be home till late." He nodded, signalling for me to go.

Grayson's gaze followed me out of Pop's and into the cold. It was much chillier than I expected, I rubbed my arms hoping to warm myself up. The sunset cast an orange and pink blanket over the sky, I started walking. Truth is I really didn't know my way home, I just wanted an excuse to wander around town.

I rounded a corner, people were locking up their stores, smiling at me as I passed them. I came across an intersection, three different roads leading to three different places. I decided to go through the alleyway, it may have been a bad decision to do so at this time of day. But hey, you only live once right?

The alleyway led to what looked like the back of some club, because a handful of drunk guys poured out of the back door, stumbling over each other. I stopped in my tracks as one of them noticed me and began walking over.

"Look here boys, we got ourselves a pretty girl."

He reeked of alcohol and trash, I shoved his hand which managed to snake around my waist away.

"Get your dirty hands off me."

He grabbed my face. Juliet, you just had to go down the stupid alleyway. I felt his hot breath on my ear.

"I like em feisty."

"Get off me!" I struggled, trying to wriggle out of his firm grip. He just grabbed onto me even harder.

"I'm pretty sure she told you to get the fuck off her." A voice caused the stupid guy holding me to whip his head around.

By now all the other guys had scrambled away. I tried getting a good look at who my 'rescuer' was but considering how this dumbfucker was holding me I couldn't.
