Today is Ada’s trial. Well, and Anthony and Darren’s too, but I really hope that it’s Ada who gets the boot. Maybe it’s mean for me to want her to get kicked out, but I want her to get kicked out. The less man power Gianna has the better.
When we walked into the studio today, Penn the Petrifying told us all to sit along the back wall to give them space to do their solos. He seems to be in a much better mood today, Penn does, but he’s still pretty scary, just like always.
“First up is Anthony,” Penn announces by the stereo once it’s time to start class. Anthony stands up from where he’s sitting with Ada and Darren and walks to the middle of the room. He looks like he wants to be anywhere other than where he is right now and I have a feeling that I’m going to enjoy whatever is about to happen. Stella says that he’s a really good choreographer, so that means that he probably won’t fail, but the funny part is that Penn chose their songs, so it can be anything.
“Why do I have a feeling that we’re about to love this day?” Stella wonders. Everybody is talking, so this time, we won’t get trouble this time for talking to each other.
I laugh excitedly. “Because we will love this day.”
“Here we go,” Penn pipes when Anthony looks as ready as he’ll ever be. When I look over at him, I’m kind of surprised that I see a little glint of something that might be excitement or amusement. He looks nicer when he isn’t yelling at me. He presses the play button and I almost scream with laughter at what starts coming out of the speakers.
I'm a Barbie girl, in the Barbie world
Life in plastic, it's fantastic!
You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere
Imagination, life is your creation
Come on Barbie, let's go party!I don’t know which parts funnier: The fact that Barbie Girl starts playing or the fact that Anthony is dancing to Barbie Girl. Everybody is laughing, especially Mason and Stella. I let myself laugh too, and eventually, I’m laughing hysterically with Stella and Mason. Looking over at Penn, I can see that he’s even getting a chuckle out of what he’s putting Anthony through right now. He looks handsome when he smiles.
I have to give it to Anthony though, he really is doing well with the dancing. He’s so serious about the dance like it’s a song that isn’t singing about “lady lumps”. I never realized that he is actually a good dancer but I guess everyone here is a good dancer, we just never do solos so I never really see anybody else dance.
When the song is over, Anthony is still scowling and his cheeks are red. I don’t know if it’s from the embarrassment or the exertion, but I hope it’s both.
“Nice job, Bro!” Stella calls to her brother, still in a fit of laughter. He glares at her, flipping her off, before stomping back to where he was sitting with Darren and Ada, who both look terrified of what’s to come. Ada also looks like she’s in a lot of pain, which I think is pretty amusing as well.
“Ada,” Penn announces next, leaning against the wall by the stereo system that’s hanging on the wall. She stands up and walks to the center of the room, wiggling around like she has a bug in her pants.
“She looks like she rolled around in invisible poison ivy,” Mason mutters softly.
“No, she looks like somebody put itching powder in her clothes,” Brian grins.
“Did you seriously do that?” Stella wonders with a laugh.
“No,” He shakes his head. “Andrew did.”
“This day just keeps on getting better,” Stella giggles and I find myself giggling along with her. Maybe I should listen to their revenge ideas after all, instead of just going crazy and punching somebody in the face.
