On the verge of something wonderful

wee one gender reveal part 2

Daddy just got home from the performance. Now it's time for my doctors appointment. I'm nervous lol. But I'm mostly excited because I can't wait to bring my own person into the world.
We went to the doctor and sat in the waiting room. I looked at the magazine ones, but there weren't too many good ones. It should be a rule that every doctors office carries AT LEAST one celebrity magazine one lol. Make everything so much easier.
Soon the nurse said "Madalyn?"
I went with daddy in the exam room. The nurse took blood pressure and temperature and asked a few questions and said the doctor will be in shortly.
The nurse didn't even seem fazed that my dad was Darren Hayes lol.
After the nurse left, I asked daddy how his performance went.
"Fine princess, but I'm more excited about your performance right now lol."
"Lol if you can call it that."
Even with something as serious and dramatic as this, we can find ways to have fun with it. Daddy is amazing.
The doctor came in soon. She asked more questions and saw what the nurse wrote down. She said "you want to know the sex of the wee one now right?" We said yes. She took an ultrasound and left the room waiting for it to be developed. When she left I got more nervous but daddy said "whatever it is your wee one will be amazing and very much loved. And the wee one has the most amazing mother too. You and my own mum are the best mothers there could be."
The doctor came back in and said, "it's a girl!"
I got more excited when I heard that because I had sort of wanted a girl. There is nothing quite like the feeling of finding out what the gender is of the wee one you are carrying inside you. It is the most amazing feeling, second to actually having the wee one.
She handed me the ultrasound picture and I showed daddy.
"She is already a beautiful princess just like you." I smiled and we hugged.
The doctor said "have you been thinking of a name?"
"I'm not sure about the middle name yet but I think I will name her Christina."
"That is a pretty name" said the doctor. Daddy agreed.
It was time to leave the office. When we got home we watched Star Wars return of the Jedi (our favourite one) and dedicated it to princess Christina.
"She's already having Star Wars movies dedicated to her. She is truly part of the family." I said.
We laughed and watched the movie into the night.
