ADRIANNA

Sleep barely came after last night's incident. My body wanted to but my wolf made sure to stay alert. And now, Myra keeps scolding me for the tired look on my face.

"Look at you, just look at you! How could the greatest wolf warrior be fighting with those bags in her eyes?" She said exasperatedly while she leans on the dining table, munching an apple.

She may sound like an old lady but really, she's just my age.

"I can't sleep. Too cold in my room." I said sleepily while trying my best to keep my eyes open.

Ugh. I just wanted to sleep. Why couldn't I just take the day off. Surely someone can take my place for the day and teach the pups cool stuff.

"We both know you have lots of blankets to dive on. There's no way in hell that you would feel cold. Unless-" Then she gasps suddenly. Her face lightens up as she stared at my disheveled state.

"your wolf feels very very lonely and wants some warm body to accompany you through the cold nights."

I rolled my eyes and scooped a bit of porridge and stuck it in my mouth. After drinking a bit of grape juice, I answered her with all the annoyance that I could muster in my voice trying not to think of the company I've been yearning for years.

"Myra, it's not that. My wolf does not feel that way. I do not feel that way. It's just cold in my room. Literally."

My wolf side growled in disagreement. She's getting really impatient in finding her gray-eyed half.

If you were wondering, Myra doesn't know that I saw my mate two years ago. And what would telling her do? Its not like she could bring us back together. I'm just sticking to what she said years ago. I'll just have to wait and everything would be okay.

The season is near,  just a few months to go. I keep repeating this in my head to comfort my wolf and to keep the longingness I feel in bay.

If I could just tell Myra what's keeping me up last night...

But again, I can't.

Myra is my best friend. But she is also my protector.

Once I tell her what's going on, she would go all 'You can't do this.' or 'You can't do that.' Then I wouldn't be able to travel as planned.

Two weeks without any guards and protectors. Even the thought made me wanna jump around and squeal in joy.  I petitioned this to our royal court and had badgered my parents for years and finally they had agreed. They finally came to an agreement that I am strong enough and trained enough to travel in the duration of two weeks. A short time for many, but it's long enough for me.

I wanted to travel since I was just a pup. It's not like I wanted to leave my kingdom. I love it here. I just wanted a new environment, for a change.

I wanted to explore new places before...before I settle down with someone.

And that might be soon since I am recently declared as a female wolf in the right age. Twenty...

That sounded old...

"So I was saying-" Myra, realizing that I wasn't listening, stared daggers at me as she pressed my cheeks together with her hands.

"What realm did your mind wander about now?" She asked.

I tried speaking but my mouth is puckered. When I say something, it's like I'm blubbering nonsense.

I took off her hands on my face and answered her. "I was just thinking about- something..."

Curious, Myra leaned near my face and asked with a hint of teasing in her voice.

"Something? What's this something? Is it a male?"

I rolled my eyes at that. Why does she always think of men? Is that what her mind revolves around now?

"Myra, you keep on suggesting about me finding my mate. But how about you, aren't you thinking about finding someone who'll keep the cold nights warm?"

Her face burned at that. Painting her cheeks with hints of red.

Ah, isn't she cute? I snickered.

But her composure came back immediately as she wave her hand slightly at her side.

"Hey, I thought using magic must be done only if it's needed. Aren't those your exact words miss High Witch of the East?"

She smirked at that. "Only I, can disobey my own rules."

As she tapped the napkin on her mouth, Myra stood from her chair and sighed. "It's good talking with you, Princess. But I must attend to your mother. She needs my service."

"Ugh, so formal. You know you don't need to address me like that. You're my bestfriend."

I tapped my napkin also to my lips and then stood up.

"I'll keep addressing you that, because that's who you are. So don't be grumpy and just go to your trainees and teach them how to do wolf fighting stuff."

I laughed at that.

"See you later." She said then in a blink of an eye, she was surrounded with silver dust, and she's gone.

I shaked my head sideways. Myra still wants a spectacular exit.

And now that I'm alone again, I felt a bit - only a little tiny bit - scared.

Still remembering the words written in the patchment.

It's as if it's stuck in my head.

Strong warrior or not his persistence gives me chills.

"Meet me......I'll be waiting." I mumbled.

Sooo creepy...
