:Forgive her.: My eyes snapped open as I heard a voice in my head. Who's there? I tried to jump up but was quickly pulled back down due to the straps around my ankles and wrists. :Relax it's just me.: Looking up my memory came back to me. It's him, Storm. The one that dropped me in the ocean to fall to my death and be eaten by sharks. Not to mention the large cut he gave me on my arm. :I did not mean for you to cut your arm. If you wouldn't have tried to run away in the first place. Besides, you did kick me in the face which would have left me with a broken nose. But thanks to my quick healing which by the way all merpeople have I would still have caught you and you would still be searching for your sister cluelessly.:

Wait so Serena was lying about not knowing who took my sister. I still hate him for what he did.

:Please do not hate me. I was only trying to help you. You still have to go through the change.:

What is this change that you guys are talking about. If I am going through some change and I practically have another 3 months down here and I don't even know what it is going to do. I deserve answers now! As I was saying this I was slowing trying to wiggle my feet out the the chains. I slipped my foot through the last loop and I was free. I just laid there waiting for my chance to get away. Please at least tell me your name. If I am going to stay here for a while then at least you could do is help me get to know what is going on and I need to know about you.

:Okay fine. Then let's start with the basics. My name is Storm. I was born a human but turned into a merman when I was 13. That was when I started going through the change. The change is also known as EPC.:

The EPC? What does that stand for? The extremely painful change?

:Yup.: As Storm said this he smiled then did like a little check sign with his head. Almost as if he was nodding his head  up and down really fast and stopped when his head straightened out. I have only known Storm for a few hours and I already dislike him. Either he is just saying that so he could scare me or he is serious and trying to make it sound better than it actually does. Storm took a step toward me letting more light shine on his face. This was the first time I got a good look at him. He was beautiful, like an angel. He was unlike any boy I have ever seen. He looked to be about my age, 16. If he is 16 then he would have been living in the ocean for about three years. I couldn't imagine staying here for that long. Never being able to walk on land. Never being able to see my family again. I never will be able to talk to my mom and dad again. They died in the flood. After it had stopped raining on September 29 2016 the water somehow magically started to rise in Ozarks lake. My parents were out on a date at the lake when the tsunami came from it. They drowned, and I never saw them again. The day before was when my sister went missing.

Storm had black hair that went to his shoulders and was braided. He was very tall considering the fact that he had a tail. He had deep blue eyes that were unlike any that I have ever seen, a strong jaw and skin that shines like diamonds. He wasn't dark or light skinned. He had a blue tail that glistened when the sun shined on it. He was magnificent.  He was enough to make any girl melt on the spot, but not me.

He kept looking at me like he was trying to read me or something. After a minute or two, he started to say something but then stopped and hesitated, then opened his mouth again. :How come you don't like me?: He looked puzzled but surprised at the same time. :Normally when a girl sees me they practically melt in place.:

I looked at him. Into his big, blue eyes. I do have to admit that he is strikingly handsome, there is no point in doubting that. It still isn't enough to make me melt. Well, I  thought , then let me be the first. Besides, it's nice to have a change, right? As I was saying this he changed his expression from curious to blank faced as if he was dazed or mesmerized by something. He just floated in the water, his arms drooped at his side with his mouth slightly open. I used this as a chance to untie my seaweed bindings on my legs. As I slipped each foot out I looked up after each one to make sure he was still dazed. When I slipped the last one out, I looked up once more to see him wince. I stopped, waited for a second, then got up off the bed. He winced again like he wanted to say something, but couldn't. Can he move? Is he paralyzed? Or is he in deep thought and can't seem to get away from it. Just then I here voices in my head. They were talking, like they were having a deep conversation. What are they saying? I can only make out a few words. :But... she...escape... again? If... then... make... painful.: Are they talking about me? What will be made painful if what happens?

Then I here another voice this time clear and it's Storms. :Hello?! Is anyone listening to me? She's trying to escape. She's getting out of the bed. Stop invading my mind to talk to me. I am not jealous! You are! If you don't let me go then I will leave. Myself.:

:Then leave!: I recognized the voices. The one that wants to leave is Storm, and the one that is jealous is Serena.

I took this as an opportunity to grab Storm's hands. I dragged him over to the bed that I was previously strapped in. He flinched again. I took the seaweed and bound his wrists as tight as possible without loosing circulation. The I took the seaweed that was for my legs, tied them together and wrapped it around his tail twice. When I was finished I pulled away from him to only see him flinch again. I slowly swam away from him to the door. I looked back once more taking in everything. He was very handsome. His eyes glisten when the sun shines on them.  His braid floating in the water without a care in the world. For the first time I saw something in him. I heard a thought, or a feeling. But then it stops. I hear it again. Yes, it is a feeling. Wait. No, it's a wish.

I search harder, pushing my mind through his thoughts. I didn't know that I could to this. There it is. It's a longing. I see land, and an old man. He looks just like Storm. It's his father. He misses his father. I felt sorry for him. I know the feeling. I miss my family more than anything in the world. But if I wanted to find my sister, then I would have to get out of the water, get out of the sea.

I turned back around to face the door. I opened it, and swam out closing the door behind me. As I swam down the halls I felt a drag like something was pulling me. I looked back to see if anyone was there, but no one was.  I kept on swimming and felt the same drag as before.  I stop and turned to abruptly that I lost balance and sunk to the bottom. I looked down and saw that I was wearing shoes, pants and a shirt. Great. I took off my shoes and socks. Dropped them and kept on swimming. It was slightly easier but I still had too much drag. I have to take off my clothes. I looked around me to make sure no one was coming and slipped off my shirt. Then I slipped off my pants. I was now in my underwear and bra.

Well at least I still had something to cover me. I don't mind being in my garments right now, mainly because I have other things more important to deal with. Besides, it was like wearing a bikini.

I swam down a hall and turned to a door way that had an exit sign at the top. I opened the door and came face to face with the open sea. I could see what looked like buildings beneath me and around me.  I know wear I am! I am at the Empire State Building, or at least what is left of it. There was something on my bucket list that I have always wanted to do ever since I saw the movie, King Kong. I still had the bubble around my head. I swam up to the long metal needle at the top. It was much thicker than I thought it was. I grabbed the needle and swung around it going in circles acting like I was King Kong.

I laughed out loud as I got dizzy and lost my sense of balance. When I regained my normal state, I looked back up and saw that my boat was still there. I swam to the boat, grabbed the rail. I pulled myself up and as I surfaced the bubble popped. I tried to lift myself onto the boat but was stopped by a sharp pain in my arm. I swung my leg up out of the water and in the boat. I swung my other leg up and in. I dropped in. I started up the engine and sped off.

I heard more voices in my head.  This time they were not an argument. They were mad and screaming to find her. I sped up to go as fast as I could. Just as I turned around the Statue of Liberty, I saw 5 heads pop out of the water.

I kept on going as fast as the boat would go. A minute later I hit something hard. The motor stopped running and a tail flew up out of the water.
