Flooded

The Fight Part 7

I jumped out the way avoiding a powerful slash of a tail. I fell to the bottom of the boat banging my elbows on the metal. I winced from the pain, but it quickly subsided. I looked up and saw my spear. I grabbed it, jumped up and aimed at the ready to shoot whatever comes out of the water.
          I waited. Minutes passed by without a single sign of movement. Maybe I could listen to their thoughts. I concentrated on Storm. I concentrated on his mind and thoughts. Then I felt him. I touched his mind and felt his anger, I felt his worry, I felt his strength, but I heard his thoughts. I heard his regret, his worry, his anger. But, then I felt something else that shocked me. I felt love in him. He loved someone or something. He was worried about something. I pondered the question of what is what that he regretted, what is was that made him angry, and what it was that he loved or cared for.
          I felt him as the realization dawned on him that I was listening to him. He felt shocked, but he soon shut me out of his mind putting up his walls.
          I moved to another 'person' that I knew I could easily reach, Serena. All I had to do was think of her and I was in her mind. As soon as I touched her I felt a feeling so strong that I hurt my head. I felt her hate. I immediately knew that it was directed towards me. She was speaking to someone and I knew it was Storm.
          I could only make out a few words at a time but as I focused in on the conversation the clearer it got. :Well if you wouldn't have left her out of your sight then this never would have happened!: Serina snapped back at what ever it was that Storm said to make her so mad.
         :It's not my fault! YOU were the one who held onto my mind to talk to me. And, YOU were the one who put the binding on her not me!: My brain felt like it was going to pop right out of my head by how loud his mental screams are.
          :Holding onto your mind and binding her has nothing to do with her getting away.: The constant argument was starting to make my head hurt. I already know what happened and why it happened, so I don't need another reminder.
        :BINDING AND HOLDING ONTO MY MIND HAS GOT TO DO WITH EVERYTHING! WHEN SHE SAW THAT YOU WERE THE ONE WHO BOUND-:
          I cut him off saying, :Just shut up both of you, you're giving me a headache. I'm going to find my sister whether you like it or not.:
          They swam up to the surface of the water and just looked at me, like for a long time. "What? Are you just going to stare at me the whole day, or are you going to say something. Seriously you look like you just saw thee most beautiful person in the world. It's quite funny actually. " I smirk at them taking in their reactions. They keep on staring at me dumbfounded. "Well..." I say urging them to blink and start talking.
Storm looks away from me and looks at Serina. I could tell that they were talking on private send so I couldn't here them mainly because they keep giving each other facial expressions. Storm looks at me opens his mouth to say something.
"Well... It's just that when people are only a month into their transformation their telepathy isn't very strong yet. And-"
Storm gets cut off by Serina who sends him a dirty look. :Um what he means is, it is very rude to listen in on other people's conversations. Besides, anyone who is going through the transformation can do that."
Storm's mind touched my mind talking to me through private send. :Don't listen to her. She is just jealous. Serina might be a warrior, but she doesn't have very strong telepathy like you do. You are very special. And we knew that from the beginning.:
We? There's more of them? How many are there? Why didn't I see any? My mind was flooded with thousands of questions that I couldn't answer myself. I turned to look at Storm for answers. He had a face of coldness and eyes that showed showed amusement. Embarrassment came upon me when I suddenly realized that he has been dropping hints about having a colony. If that what you call a civilization of merpeople.
:We need you to come with us back to the water. If you don't then you will die only in a few weeks due to the change.:
:There is no way hell on Earth that I am going back to the water. I am going to stay up here and look for my sister whether you like it or not.: I knew that I would die if I stayed up here. I just want to be on land one more time before I have to go into the water. Once I find land I will stay there for a couple of days then I will return to the water. No more no less.
:If you come with us then we will help you find your sister. I think I will know who took her if you come with us.: I took in his words slowly considering them. But before I said anything I came up with a few terms and conditions.
:First before I go with you I have a few things that you must abide by. Number one, no more binds. Number two, you cannot back out of helping me no matter what. Number three, you must inform me on what is going on. And number four, you need to tell me all about the EPC.: I agreed with myself that if he does agree to the terms then I will find someone else who will.
His face went hard. I couldn't read what he was feeling just by looking at his face. But I could tell that he was thinking. He was considering my terms and coming up with his own.
:okay. But you can't run away anymore. You have to listen to everything I say. You must follow all of your instructions that are given to you. I have other things to discuss with you except that is something that comes with a tour. I will explain and answer your questions. There will be somethings that I can't give information to. With that said you have to come with us now so we may begin our journey. There is something that I must discuss with the leader that is very urgent and cannot wait any longer. So let go.:
He dove under the water instructing me to follow. I went to jump then hesitated. I looked to the other three people that were in the water. They looked back at me and looked to Serena as if they had to ask for permission to speak to me. They looked back at me and the one with blonde hair and brown eyes spoke up.
"Hi, my name is Zale. This is Aberdeen and Leith.: Aberdeen has auburn hair with brown eyes. Leith has dark brown hair with grey eyes. As their names were called they raised their hands and waved. I waved back at them smiling.
"How am I supposed to breathe under water though?" I was not going to go in there if I couldn't breathe. I don't plan on dying today. Or at least anytime soon.
"All you have to do I jump in the water and one will pop up around your head. But, before you do, put the boat in the crown of the statue." Leith informed me. His eyes shined bright with something.
"Okay thanks." I tried to turn on the boat but it wouldn't start. I looked back at them and said, "can you push me over there? My engine won't start." Serena rolled her eyes as Leith and Zale immediately went to help. The boat surged forward as I fell back from the sudden movement.
The boat slowed down as it entered the crown of the statue. When it stopped I got up from the floor and and walked to the edge of the boat. I looked down into the water as I saw a glimpse of my arm. It had bleed through the bandage. I turned around to the first aid kit. I opened it up and grabbed surgical scissors. I cut the bandage and wrapped it back up. I put the  kit away, walked to the edge and jumped.
