I awoke and noticed Ares had left again. I wondered where he always goes, but I'm sure it was important.

I got out of bed and explored the area around me. It didn't seem like Ares had many precious heirlooms or prized possessions. I often wondered what his life was like.

I thought I heard someone entering the room and ran toward the sound hoping it was Ares. It wasn't.

A beautiful girl was smiling at me and she had lightly tanned skin that was flawless with her long golden waves loosely hanging down. She was far from my beauty and her eyes reminded me of the light blue sky.

"Are you Aphrodite?" I asked and she lightly laughed at me.

She locked eyes with me. "You're a clever girl," she said as she crossed over to me and I smiled back. She had a light pink dress draped on her slender body. I had never seen any woman more beautiful or eye catching as her.

"It's nice to meet you, I'm Eleza," I said as she had a knowing gleam in her eyes.

"It's surprising my older brother married you, but he has pretty good taste," I blushed a little at the compliment, a goddess was here telling me I was a good match for Ares. "But I am curious what you love about him,"

Suddenly I thought of his smile and his beautiful bright blue eyes. "He is kind. He always has a way of making me feel less like a normal person. I love the way he smiles and when I make him blush." Aphrodite was intently watching me with a small surprised gleam in her eyes.

She looked about to laugh. I felt embarrassed for saying all that out loud. "It's nice to know he has a soft side. There was no way any of us thought he would ever marry anyone, he was way to disinterested with frivolous things like love."

I was more interested by what she meant. "It's not really like that with me. He has his own charm about him." She seemed entertained by that. "Just because that person has a different goal in mind, it does change when they least expect it."

"You're head over heels for my brother," I felt like I was her source of entertainment and she was smiling at me. "Honey, I have seen what love looks like. He was totally dead set on marrying a mortal he met only a few times. He truly loves you, but even he will soon realize that he can't hide you forever,"

She had a point. Ares became more possessive and protective after I told him about my scar. "What should I do?" I  was talking to myself and laid one of my hands over the scar. I had told him that, but should I have told him that?

"Just tell him how you feel," I smiled at her.

"Thank you," I replied and it was funny how she reminded me a little of May.

"What made you give up everything for him?"

I was caught off guard by the question, but still smiled at her lightly. "There's nothing there for me. I don't miss much of my home, but I will always remember." I reminisced on my time in Acrin. "I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would ever marry either, but Ares makes me feel satisfied with my decision. I don't regret it." I stopped when I heard the door open fast.

Ares was out of breath and Aphrodite seemed surprised. "Can't stop coming back for more can you, big brother," she was teasing him a little.

His eyes immediately intensified when he looked at his sister. "Dite, what are you doing here?" His voice sounded annoyed.

She casually smiled back at him and then smiled at me. "I'll see you later, Eleza," she said as she went out the door.

Ares looked ready to lock the door and never open it again.

He turned to me and his eyes brimmed with worry. They are a soft vibrant blue. I had never seen him like this. "She didn't do anything did she?" His voice was low and quick.

"No, she just talked to me. That's all," I replied worried for his sake because he didn't seem like himself. "Why are you-,"

He hugged me to him and I felt like there was another reason he held onto me. I hugged him back trying to soothe the tension I felt from him.

I leaned in by his ear. "I'm fine. I promise,"

He held onto me unable to let me go. I feel like something happened and he was acting like a frightened child afraid to lose his greatest treasure. I wonder what has him so worried about me.

This chapter brought in Aphrodite and we still have more gods and goddesses coming soon. This leads into the next chapter. I hope you are enjoying it. Until next Chapter, thank you.
