Daphne was exhausted, she remembered, because Oliver had kept her up all night, refusing to go to sleep because he was overworked and energetic thanks to the babysitter feeding him too much sugar (they never used her again). He'd calmed down when morning hit, however, and had instead turned his attention to Cara, his baby sister and best friend forever.
Daphne had cried, a lot, just like she did on Ollie's first and second birthdays. He was turning three that year; Daphne wasn't ready.
