Ages will be up here. Six

"Come on Asty!" Hiccup said, enthusiastically.

"Okay Hic, I'm coming :D." Astrid replied. They were riding their scooters around the park. Suddenly Hiccup fell off his scooter. Astrid was distressed. She ran over to help her friend. The other people at the park saw him fall. They started laughing. They started chanting.

"Useless, Useless, Useless....." Astrid glared.

"When we're older..." Hiccup whispered to her quietly, "Will you be my girlfriend?"

"Yes. I promise." She replied.

Sixteen

Astrid and Dagur were at Dagur's house. (A/N: Dagur is Astrid's boyfriend.)

"Who said that?" Astrid asked. (A/N: The epic voice that knows your future.)

"O_O... TELL ME MAH FUTURE!" She said. (A/N: You will marry Dagur and have 3 children and 6 grandchildren.)

"REALLY!?" She asks. (A/N: No, no of course not.)

"Aw." She said glumly. "What did you want to talk to me about?" She asks Dagur.

"I'm breaking up with you." He said. (A/N: Hah. Told you. Serves you right. You broke a promise.)

"With who?" she asks. (A/N: I'm not telling you. Also, it would mess up the timeline. Hm... I kinda like this...)

"You would." She said (A/N: You don't even know me.) She rolled her eyes

-

The next day she was in her room laying on her bed. I loved him. She thought. (A/N: No you didn't. You never did.) "Shut up." she said. (A/N: Okay, shutting up now.) I still love him. She thought again. She had an idea on how she was going to get him to ask her out again. (A/N: Bad idea. Oops. Sorry.)

-

It was now night and Hiccup remembered the promise she made. Every night he would cry himself to sleep. Why did she break her promise? I was looking forward to spending High School with her.  Hiccup thought... Every... Single... Night... (A/N: Don't worry, sooner or later she'll come around.) "What do you know?! You're just a voice inside my head!" He said. (A/N: Naw, I'm making this happen. I have a reason.) "Oh..." Hiccup said and cried harder.

Flashback

6-year-old Hiccup fell asleep. He had the best dream of his life. This was the day after Astrid made her promise.

Hiccup was sixteen and had Astrid cuddled with him. They were just talking. In the dream, he couldn't tell what they were saying. Then they kissed. Passionately. Long. When that happened, even in the dream, He felt sparks fly through him.

End of flashback.

Hiccup was now crying his heart out remembering that.

-

The next day was truly the worst day of Hiccup's life. Astrid ran into the cafeteria screaming, "Hiccup!" Oh no. What did he do this time? (A/N: Nothing.) Hiccup shrugged. Anyway, Astrid never interacts with him, unless he did something she didn't like, or to talk about Him. He hated it. He always put a mask of happiness on when she does talk about him. Today he had enough. He has put up with it for too long. He cleansed his hands into fists, and said, "What now Astrid!?"

Astrid stopped in her tracks. What the heck? Hiccup never snaps at me. she thought (A/N: You should have remembered.) The whole cafeteria was staring at them. "What?" She whispered.

"I'VE HAD ENOUGH!!!!!" Hiccup said full of fury. "YOU MADE A PROMISE TO ME WHEN WE WERE SIX! YOU BROKE IT! ALONG WITH MY HEART!" he yelled and stormed out of the cafeteria. Everyone stood slackjawed, and Hiccup went to the principal's office. He knocked.

"Who is it?" asked the principal.

"Hiccup." he replied. When he was littler, the principal told him to go to her with his problems.

"Come in honey." The principal said. He opened the door and saw Valka looking at him with a warm smile.

"What is it, honey?" She asked. "Is it about Astrid again?" She asked.

"Yes." Was his reply. Toothless, Hiccup's cat, crawled out from behind her desk when he heard Hiccup's voice. Hiccup sat down. Toothless jumped on his lap, sensing he was stressed, trying to comfort him.

"Hey, bud." Hiccup said.

"Okay, spill." Valka said.

"I was eating lunch, like normal, then Astrid came running in screaming my name with a book in her hand. I finally said I had enough, and came straight here. I told her she broke my heart, and her promise." he explained.

Valka's expression changed, into joy. "Thanks for telling her son."

"The entire school thinks I'm a freak now though too because I yelled at the most popular girl in school." he said sadly.

-

Astrid didn't sit down at her normal table. Instead, she sat with Hiccup's friends. When she neared the table, all of them at the table turned their faces into rage. She was confused.

"Can you guys tell me what happened? Please?" she asked them.

"Fine." they all said.

"When you guys were six, you made a promise to Hiccup. That you would become a couple." Fishlegs explained. "The next day he 'Had the best dream ever' according to him. but ten years later, now, you broke your promise. It broke his heart." They explained. She just stood there, teary-eyed. It broke her heart in two.

"Every day you talk about Dagur, he puts on a mask. On the inside, every time you talk about him, you tear his heart again. Soon there will be nothing left. Just a broken man, trying to get over you."

"Excuse me, but I have somewhere to be." She said her voice cracking. She sprinted to the principal's office. Valka also told her to go to her for her problems. not just school problems, personal problems. Astrid felt like Valka was a mother to her. Her real mother doesn't really pay much attention to her.

By the time she got there Hiccup had left.
