Psychotic [Larry AU]

"Now hearing case #2728. A plea for 12-year-old Lux Teasdale to be assigned a foster home after having lived at Fort Montegry Mental Asylum for three years, after being diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder which was caused by the death of her mother at the age of 9. The defendants lawyers, Detective Oli Wright and Professor Louis Tomlinson."

"All rise for his excellency, Judge Hemmings."

The head officer announced as the Judge's door opened. The entire court room stood up and the middle-aged blonde man walked up to his chair, siting down with a pleased sigh.

"Be seated."

The whole courtroom settled down and the Judge looked to his officer in charge and gave him a curt nod. The officer moved to the plaintiff's table and took the file from the two men both in black suits and gave it to the judge.

The elder man with short blonde hair skimmed through file, as a silence loomed over the court room. The couple behind the two men in suits held hands and prayed for the best. They had waited months for this court case and they couldn't afford to spend any more money on visits and monthly payments and short term contracts. This was their last chance.

The judge closed the file and placed it carelessly next to his left arm.

"Let her in."

He said and the officer moved to his left and opened a door to reveal a 12 year old girl holding a small Strawberry Shortcake backpack. She let go of the elder nurse and shakily took the officers hand. He led her to the front of the courthouse and immediately ran to the familiar friendly face that was none other than Louis.

"Mr. Tomlinson, now that we have all parties present, shall we begin?"

Louis raised the little girl onto the the chair beside him, placing a kiss to her forehead and walking to the middle of the room, standing infront of the judge.

"You're Honor, I wouldn't want to waste anyone's time here so I'll go straight to it. At the time of Miss. Lux Teasdale's mother's death, she went into shock therefore diagnosed with PTSD, and with lack of proper family around she sank into depression and became anorexic at the young age of 8. She was found almost a year later and immediately admitted into Fort Montegry at the age of 9 and has been there for three years now."

"She looks healthier."

"She definately is. And she is ready to move to a stable home and go to a proper school."

"Well Mr. Tomlinson, it would take months to find the proper family ready to acc-"

"Your Honor, if I may. Ms. Cara Delevigne and Ms. Kendall Jenner have visited Lux for six months and are more than able to support her."

The judge looked at Louis with contemplative eyes then looked at the female couple seated behind Detective Oli and Lux. Lux turned behind slightly to smile at the couple who smiled back and Kendall blew a kiss to her making her smile harder and turn back to face Louis.

"It seems you have been doing all the work here Mr. Tomlinson."

"All in a day's work, Your Excellency."

The judge collected the file together and opened up the adoption papers, signing them and giving it to the officer who gave it to Louis. Louis smiled at the couple.

The judge hit the gavel and Lux jumped out of her seat and ran to Louis. She was short for her age after losing so much weight and having stunted growth in the asylum. He hugged her back as she cried and repeatedly thanked him.

The officers opened the doors and the judge left to the backroom. The entire room shifted and filed out. Louis held Lux's hand and Oli collected his briefcase and they walked out. The three walked to the reception and met Cara and Kendall who were smiling so hard to each other. Cara had a phone to her ear and she was nodding and answering back.

Kendall walked over and hugged Louis and whispered her gratitude.

"Yes mum... Yeah we'll be over as soon as we're done here... Yes that means tomorrow... Okay bye mum... Love you too... Bye... Mum!... Okay... Byeee!"

Cara ended the call with a chuckle. She pulled Louis in for a hug and kissed his cheek. The two also hugged Oli who needed to head back to the office. He promised to call Louis later and left.

"Now what shall we be eating for dinner today? Lux?"

"Nandos!"

"Oh Louis! Do you mind coming with us? Would Eleanor want to join as well now that we can celebrate this victory."

"Noooooo! Victory is only for family. Uncle Louis, please come alone."

Lux begged with puppy dog eyes causing Louis to sigh dramatically but agree; he would text Eleanor of the plans. Lux let out a cheer and started tugging on Louis' arm to the parking lot.

The adults laughed as they headed to their separate cars. Lux insisted on riding with Louis as she wouldn't see him as often once she moved in with her new mums.

Louis had been assigned to the Teasdale case almost eight months earlier and he went to the asylum everyday to visit Lux and get her opinion on her situation and they became friends within a week of his visits. She adored his childish side and also because he took her out of the asylum when he could.

Once she did ask him to adopt her but he explained that he wasn't fully finanacially stable and knowing Eleanor, she would have caused such a fuss thinking about kids.

It was at that point Lux said she despised Louis's girlfriend and she started praying for him to find his true love. Louis just laughed at her imagination.

Four months later, Cara and Kendall responded to his ad looking for anyone looking to adopt and this was where they were now. They drove in two separate cars to Nandos with Lux explaining what she was most excited for about school and summer and the outside world in general. The smile in the child's face was brighter then he'd ever seen on her before.

That night, Louis slept with a smile knowing he made a difference, but something told him he wouldn't be hearing the last of Lux and her crazy theories of Louis' yet to be true love.

Hey guys! I'm REALLY REALLY REALLY sorry that I haven't updated any of my books. I've gone through so much pain since my last updates and I couldn't focus on just putting something good out on any of my books.

This chapter is short as it is kind of a filler and also I'm just slowly starting to come back from the land of the dead.

Hope you enjoy. I'm working on trying to update atleast one chapter of each book this week alone.
