"Believe me! There is nothing to be afraid of!"
King Leuch protested to the panel of UEM high ranking officers.
The UEM commander, Richard Lockhart, looked at the King in a calm, serious expression.
"So you're saying that 'they' can be defeated with conventional weapons? Missiles? Lead bullets? Frag grenades?"
The question was rhetorical, however everyone expects that these weapons would be ineffective since the newer and more advanced weapon tech didn't reach every corner of the world so conventional weapons of the past are largely in use.
The commander added:
"Or... Plasma? Tungsten core rounds? EM rounds? Incendiary bullets? Etcetera?"
The King answered, with a smile on his face.
"Compressed mana."
Everyone's gaze turned serious.
"Yes, in other words, magic."
He then further explained with a coarse voice.
"These organisms doesn't posses magic, so your faces right now told me that you're worried they do. But luckily they don't, however they have an absurd amount of defensive power though."
One of the officers raised his hand and asked a question.
"So you're saying that since physical weapons doesn't work against them, we must use magic that transverse the physical laws of their defenses?"
The King smiled, hinting that he got the bullseye.
"Yes yes! The Insigma can be dealt with physical projectiles, however a significantly tremendous amount of firepower is required. However, with the use of magic that contains mana it can negate the effects of their hard skin, in which will render their bodies as fragile as us humans."
The king then ordered one of his subordinates that was standing at the entrance of the dome to hand him the case he was holding.
As he opened it, the eyes of the officials widened.
The king grabbed a piece of red color from the briefcase then held it up for everyone to see.
"I got this from one of their covert ops that tried to infiltrate the ship. A piece of their arm, it actually took quite some time to cut through it though."
The object in his hand was a square with a darkish matte red in color. Underneath it was a lump of soft flesh. Indeed, the top layer was hard but it can be easily bent.
He then asked for a gun from one of the UEM personnel.
"I'll show you, so that you would understand it with your own eyes. Can I borrow one of your guns?"
The guard looked around the room for confirmation from his superiors, and then Commander Lockhart nodded.
The king grabbed a black pistol. He closely examined it. The officer explained him the details about the pistol as if he knew what the king was thinking.
"That is a UP 05. It's because it uses 5mm long high penetration bullets."
The king held it with just a simple reaction of 'hoh'.
Then he pointed it at the sample, pressed the trigger.A sound of an explosion, the muzzle flashed and then something blue was stuck in the surface of the sample.
The officials gasped. A high penetration weaponry wasn't able to even leave a dent on an half an inch thick red skin.
