Chapter 13

I walked out of the hospital and immediately realized I was hungry by the loud rumbling in my mid-section. I started walking to the nearest restaurant.

"Hey Kyamyi!" Someone yelled as I was walking

I turned around and saw who it was. "Hi, Temari."

"Sorry to stop you," She looked anxious.

"No problem, what do you need?"

"Um, have you seen Gaara?"

I blushed at her question. "I was with him this morning but then he went off with Naruto."

"Do you know where they went?"

"No, sorry"

"Hmm, you think maybe they got hungry and went to eat?"

"Knowing Naruto..." I trailed off.

She nodded her head understanding "Then lets go eat."

I raised an eyebrow

"I'm paying." All she needed to say and I followed her.

We went inside the nearest restaurant and the two ninja were no where to be found; but we sat down at a table and ate anyway, thankfully.

"So why are you so worried about Gaara?"

"I'm not that worried. It's just that usually he stays inside all day, when he does go, he's never out for long. You surprised me when you said he was with you."

I blushed as I let out a small "Oh,"

"You really like my brother don't you?"

I looked at her and blushed even more, I nodded.

"Well don't get mad if he discourages you or does something stupid, he's never really liked anybody before you, so he might not even know how to act around you. He always goes to Kankuro when he wants to talk about that stuff, when he really should come to me, I'm older so I know better..."

I let her rant; for I was in my happy place, she had said that Gaara liked me, that's all I needed to know. I swear when she said it I felt like dancing, but seeing that I was in a public place, and my dance skills aren't that great, I thought better of it.

"I mean Kankuro hasn't ever dated anyone, and me, I'm in a very strong relationship with Shikamaru." She covered her mouth at what she just said. She pleaded with me with her eyes.

"I didn't hear anything."

"Thanks." She mouthed.

I leaned in closer. "But Shikamaru, really?" I giggled.

"Shut up." She joked

"I always thought he would be to lazy to be in a relationship, let alone a strong one."

She laughed "He is pretty lazy."

"Who is?"

I looked to see who it was then smirked at Temari.

"Oh, hi Shika."

He looked at me then back to her. "So I'm guessing the cat is out of the bag, then."

"No, you see, when she said 'I'm in a strong relationship with Shikamaru' I didn't hear it." Temari had a look of betrayal in her eyes and her jaw dropped.

"That's a relief because then I woudn't be able to do this." He sat down next to Temari, then kissed her, for a while.

"Please, stop, your PDA is killing me!" I shaded my eyes.

Temari broke the kiss "You know it would be the same if Gaara kissed you."

"What the fuck, he didn't need to know that!"

"Payback."

"But he's not even mad!"

"Well you said it yourself, I'm lazy; I was getting tired of keeping our relationship a secret." He told her as he grabbed for a piece of meat that was in her bowl, she tried to slap his hand away but the food was already in his mouth. "So, Gaara huh? Fitting, one sadistic jerk for another."

"Gaara is not a jerk,"

"And you are one?"

"Totally," I said. "bitch." I added to prove my point.

"Don't call him a bitch, cunt." Temari spat at me.

"Shit bag."

"Whore."

"Slut, you probably already slept with him."

"That's for me to know, stay in a child's place, kid."

"What? You're probably only two, maybe three years older that me."

"Key word 'older'."

At that moment we burst out in hysterics because Shikamaru who was viewing our little cage match, made cat noises, and being him the noises came out lazily, and that made them sound hilarious, even he had to laugh.

When the laughter depleted Shikamaru let out a sigh and looked at Temari. "I have to leave." She poked out her lower lip and he smiled and kissed her on the forehead "See you tomorrow?"

"Of course."

He got up and walked away, but not without waving to her, she waved back, and he was gone.

"I'm jealous." I pouted.

"Why?"

"I want a relationship like yours."

"That will take some time if you go after Gaara, but if anyone could do it'd be you. You've already changed him so much. Be patient he'll come around."

"Could you tell me more about him; about Gaara." I smiled a bit when I said his name.

"I couldn't tell you much, more than half his life he spent alone, letting no one in. He only just started to talk to Kankuro and I, like we actually meant something to him. Then you came along, I'm sure if you asked him to tell you something he'd answer. Kyamyi I have no idea what you're doing to him but I do know that you should keep doing it."

I laughed. "The thing is I have no idea what I'm doing."
