Standing outside Oliver's room, ready to knock, is the most nerve racking thing I ever had to do. Taking a deep breath to compose myself, I finally mastered the courage to knock on the door. I waited for a couple of minutes, before I heard footsteps from inside the room approaching, and then the door opened to reveal a very disheveled Oliver Wood.

We both stood there looking at each other, me with a guilty smile on my face.

"Hi" I said trying to break the awkward silence, but for Oliver it looked like a cat had got his tongue.

"Emily?" he asked dumbfounded

"You look terrible!" I told him with a smile trying to lighten the mood.

Oliver only chuckled as if he couldn't believe my nerve. I cleared my throat and spoke:

"I know that this is kind of sudden, but may I come in?"

By the time I finished I was already half through the door, not expecting a confirmation. I sat down on his bed and looked around. The place smelled of pine and wood polish, just like Oliver. A small smile crept on my lips and I looked down.

'God! I had missed him!'

"Emily?" Oliver asked unsure, wondering if I was real or not.

"I heard you were stressed" I simply stated looking up at him to see that he was close to tears.

"Why?" he asked aggravated and by now tears were falling freely from his eyes.

"I told you why. I heard you were stressed so-"

"You know what I mean Emily!" he interrupted me harshly.

"Why now, Emily? God it's been what three years since you last spoke to me?" he asked and I look down ashamed, my own eyes starting to water.

"I-I.." Now I was at a loss of words. I felt the bed deepening next to me as I felt Oliver's eyes on me.

"Emily is it really you?" he asked in a small voice, barely above a whisper, while tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. I nodded, my eyes still glued to the ground not being able to hold the tears in anymore. I was almost sobbing.

"I am sorry" I managed to utter between my hiccoughs

"Emily..." Oliver whispered obviously crying himself.

I turned to look at him, when he seized the chance to hug me tightly. We stayed in each other's embrace for what seemed to be hours, when it could have been mere minutes. We both became a shoulder to cry on for the other person as we reminisced the lost years.

"Are you here to stay?" he asked while hugging me and I couldn't help but giggle.

"I think so yes" I replied and we both smiled.

Oliver pulled away from the hug, his hands cupping my face, eyes assessing me, as if I would disappear any moment

Oliver pulled away from the hug, his hands cupping my face, eyes assessing me, as if I would disappear any moment.

"God you are really here" he stated

"I am sorry Oliver...I am sorry for leaving, for distancing myself, for..." I couldn't finish my sentence as a new set of tears made their appearance and I looked down.

"Hey, hey , look at me Ems" Oliver said softly toughing my chin making me look at him, his nickname for me bringing back fond memories.

"It's fine. You are here. You came back!" he tried to soothe me with a smile hugging me again.

After a couple more minutes we broke apart and Oliver looked at me.

"Sorry if I am prying, but why Ems? Why did you do it?" he asked and a tear strolled down his cheek.

"Honestly? I don't know. It's just...when you started gaining more friends and popularity...I just, I just felt out of place. Up until then it was us and then all the other kids came and I felt like...like I wasn't worthy of still hanging out with you" I replied shrugging and I whipped the tears off both our faces.

"Why would you think that, silly?" Oliver asked almost laughing and I just shrugged my shoulders in response.

"Well it doesn't really matter to me anymore. Not while I have you here with me" he said with a huge smile and it seemed like he looked healthier.

"So are you alright, Oliver? How are you feeling?" I asked obviously concerned for my best friend.

"I am now!" he said with a smile and we both laughed.

"Thank you for coming! I had really missed this" he stated and moving his hand indicating the distance between us.

"Thank Hermione. If it wasn't for her I most probably wouldn't have come. I wouldn't have the courage" I confessed rather ashamed and looked down once again. Oliver stood in front of me and took my hands in his, making me stand.

"Well let's go find her, aye lass?" he asked with a sly smirk

"Let's! But do you mind taking a shower first?" I teased

"You what?"

"I said it before. You look terrible!" I stated and made a disgusted face. Oliver only laughed and hugged me, but still followed my advice.

And now I wasn't just an old friend, but rather, I was gazing upon a new friendship between Oliver and I, a renewed one.

                                                                     THE END

A/N: Ermm yeah, i changed the photo in the media section? ( is that what you call it?). Anyway, the new one is just a screenshot from Cashback. That's actually how I pictured Oliver, when he opens the door to Emily
