Chapter 10

After damon brought me home that evening, i was so exhausted because i cried my eyes out. He wouldn't even look at me the whole ride home. I tried to get him to tell me where they took george but he wouldn't.

Joanna was taking a nap in her room when i entered the house, some of the kids are in the living room and some were jn the kitchen. Whore! Slut!

Those were the words that cams out of their mouths when they saw me, i tried to ignore them but someone pushed me on the stairs and i fell on my knee. It was so painful i cried out loud. Some of them thought i broke the knee and they ran away while others stood and watched. I held my knee and limped to my room. The pain was becoming unbearable and i felt my eyelids closing into a deep slumber.

I opened my eyes to someone shaking me gently, it was joanna. I tried moving my legs but the pain i felt reminded me of what happened.

"What happened to you leg kahlan? it's badly swollen and it look broken" She asked concerned.

"I fell down the stairs" i lied.

She narrowed her eyebrows "Did you fall or did someone push you?" She questioned.

Tears rolled down on my cheeks and i looked away. She just shook her head and applied little pressure on the knee making me wince in pain.

"You need to go to a hospital, the knee is dislocated" she announced. I don't want to go to a hospital, i hate hospitals.

"No, it'll heal with time, just let it be."

"Even though you're a warewolf, this kind of injury needs proper care, and you haven't shifted yet so you have no idea if it will heal itself, let me take you to the hospital"

"Joanna please, i said i don't want to go". I said stubbornly.

"Okay,fine" she said and left the room. I leaned on the bed and closed my eyes. I missed school today, and now my knee is badly hurt and i don't know if i can go tomorrow. I really need to finish high school so that i can get away from all this.

Minutes later someone opened the door and walked in, i opened my eyes and saw damon standing on the doorway. Why is he even here? I asked my self.

He walked in and closed the door. "How did you hurt your knee?" he asked in his usual commanding tone.

"I fell on the stairs." I answered looking away.

He nodded and lifted me up bridal style. "Where are you taking me?" I asked shifting uncomfortably.

"To the hospital" he answered curtly. Seriously? i know joanna called him. Can't he atleast be polite about it?

"I don't want to go to the hospital" i said.

"And i'm not asking". He replied descending the stairs and holding me like i weigh nothing. I know i'm not fat but i'm not skinny either.

Joanna was standing near the main door and she smiled when saw us. "It's a good thing i called you damon, otherwise i wouldn't have known what to do. You should be thankful you have such a wonderful friend kahlan." She said opening the door. Wonderful my arse! I thought.

He gently placed me on the passenger side of his car, a maroon ferrari sports car, the one he usually drives to school. The interior smelled so nice and i leaned on the seat to savor the scent.

The drive to hospital was not long and soon, we were parked at the entrance. The hoslital looked cramped and i knew we had to wait for a que but damon just passed by the que, led me to a room and told me to wait there. The room looked expensive and well furnished so i guessed it was the VIP section.

The doctor came in and examined my leg. He said the leg was badly dislocated and i'll have to stay in the hospital for a few more days after the procedure. I just nodded but i cursed in my mind. I hate hospitals, it always makes me feel sick. Damon thanked the doctor and settled the bill, i guess he knew i was penniless. Talking of penniless, i thought about the job offer at sandy's coffee haven, i'll take the job as soon as i get out of this sick hospital, forgive my grammer.
