I walked through series of alleyways and non of them seem to lead me to caleb's house, it almost looks like am walking in circles. I don't have a wrist-watch with me and i don't have a phone so i don't know the time. A few bars are opened and few people are rushing to get home so i guessed it's almost midnight. What if i keep walking all night and then tell caleb i lost my way? I thought to myself but then i realized how stupid i was,I cant possibly walk all night.

It was freezing and i forgot to grab my sweet-only jacket in my nervous way out, god knows if i can even make it to the party in whole without actually freezing. Just when i was thinking on giving up, a red sports car parked in front of me and it somehow looked farmilliar. The door to the driver's seat opened and i suddenly had the urge to run but my stupid legs wouldn't move. I turned around and saw the street was empty and looked at the car again just to see drew coming out of it and i don't know why but i heaved a sigh of relief.

"kahlan what are you doing outside alone at this hour?"he asked coming closer and covering me with his jacket.

"i.. uhhh am going to a party" i blurt out knowing well how stupid it sounds.

"Oh" he said looking at me closely "then i should get going" he turned but my mentality kicked in and i stopped him because i obviously needed his help.

"i don't know where the party is taking place......uhm i meant i know where the party is taking place but i lost my way" i rambled.

"Alright come, i'll give tou a ride" he said and opened the passenger seat for me and i thanked him on my way in relishing the feeling of warmth inside the car.Drew was not the judgemental type and he dosen't ask a lot of questions and i was gratefull for that because i wouldn't have known what to say to him right now.

"So....where is it you were going exactly?" he spoke up pulling me away from my daydream.

"its-..uhm" i raised my head up trying to think of what to say, i wished i atleast knew calebs surname, that would have made things easier.

"If you can't remember the place maybe you should just go back home". At the words home, my heart fluttered a little and i wish that were the case.

"You don't understand, this party is very important to me and i have to go. You don't have to take me i can walk from here" i said not sure of my voice.

"kahlan i can't let you walk alone at night, you obviously don't know where you're going and for some reason--which i don't know-- you feel you must attend the party" he sighed and looked at me "i don't know you well enough to pry in your life and i am not asking you to tell me what's going on but i just want to let you know that i am here whenever you're ready to talk" he reached for my hand and squeezed it and for some odd reason it felt right. I don't want him to feel like i don't trust him but the truth is, i don't trust me.

A car came and passed by us with loud music blasting from whithin and i barely recognized britney in it so i told drew to follow the car. After driving for a couple of minutes, we stopped at a house which is obviously the place because of the mixture of loud noise and music coming from it.

"should i park here or should we go in?" Drew asked.

"no it's okay i'll find my way in" i nervously told him. He found a spot and parked.

I turned to look at him "thank you so much drew, you barely know me and you're helping me alot,i just want to let you know how gratefull i am"

"No problem kahlan and besides, i was just being a gentleman and rescuing a damsel in distress" i smiled at his words, he always knew how to make a nervous person feel better.

"anyway thanks again, i have to get going, bye" i turned and opened the door before he responded "yeah bye kahlan, enjoy your party" i smiled even though i knew there was no way that was happening.

I stepped aside on the pavement and watched drew's car disappear to the darkness. Great, now i have to go in.

Inside, the party was taking place near a pool and everybody was just having a blast, well everybody except me. The last thing i want is to get caught or seen by caleb or damons friends, especially cole so i decided to go to the back of the hause and just sit till the party ends. Unfortunately my little plan did not work out because i bumped right into cole.

"woahhh!! look who's here" he said in a melodious voice. "does caleb know you're here?"

"uhm... no i just arrived" i said palely.

"well come on then, he has to know you've arrived and besides, every body is waiting for you" without waiting for my response, he dragged me away and right to the middle of the party. Caleb was standing with his friends and i saw damon and josh doing an arm wrestling and the crowd were cheering. Just as i was about to slip away, caleb noticed me and strolled over.

"Oh katherine am glad you were able to make it. The party is just getting better and better" he said and i could clearly tell he was drunk and so i did not bother to correct him about the mistake of my name.

"Okay everybody, time for our biggest entertainment!!!" he shouted and everybody gathered around us. This can't be good, i mentally told myself "katherine here js going to swim for us tonight, right katherine?""

No! no! no! no! no! Everyone knows i can't swim, i almost drowned when we were in junior high. Caleb knows this and he was doing it on purpose. "Caleb please, i can't swim". I pleaded with my eyes.

"what's that?" He asked bringing his ears closer and obviously pretending he did not here what i just said. "i said i can't swim" i repeated louder.

"well who cares?" He answered non chalantly and some one in the crowd pushed me towards the pool and i struggled for support so i grabbed a hand but it slipped and i think i broke something, a bracelet.

I was in the water struggling for breath and they were all laughing. I almost gave up on my life but somebody dragged me out of the water and threw me violently on the floor.

"you broke my bracelet!" the person shouted but i was too busy trying to catch my breath to know who it is. When i looked up, i saw damon giving me a 'youre going to be sorry look' and i realized it was his bracelt i broke. Why does he have a bracelet?

"i'm sorry damon it was an accident i did not mean to do it" i started crying and judging by the look on everyone's face especially his friends, i knew the bracelet was very important and am in serious trouble.

"accident? you call that an accident? well consider what's going to happen to you from this day on as an accident kahlan. I'm going to destroy you like you just did to my bracelet" with that, he left the crowd and everybody started whispering. I was feeling very cold and i don't even know the way back home. I just wish damon would forgive me.

Josh walked up to me and said "you're leaving with damon, he's waiting for you outside"

"why am i leaving with damon?" I asked in a sympathetic tone.

"because he said so dumbwit" he replied ignorantly and left.

What am i gonna do? I asked myself.
