Summary; The war is over; they won. Ennard and Winnie have been contained, the bots have all been rescued, and Anton is slowly going back to normal. Justice should be happy, but he can't help the guilt gnawing at him; it was he, after all, who failed Foxy, and let Desirée go out when it was dangerous.
It's a good thing that Mercy has done similar deeds.
TL;DR mindless OC shipping for sake of mindless OC shipping.

Everyone was supposed to be sleeping and regaining strength after what had happened - be it mental or physical, everyone was exhausted from the fight that day, and so everyone was sleeping.

Except for Mercy and Justice, as luck would have it.

To her credit, Mercy was at least trying to sleep. But turning and seeing Justice glowing dimly in the dark warranted some concern from the violet ghost as she sat up.

"You're still awake?"

Justice jumped a little bit, turning to face her momentarily before shrugging and looking away again.

"Not tired."

"You got your ass whooped by a fox with wisteria, there's no way you're not tired."

With a glance to Anton to make sure she could swear without either an actual scold or halfhearted reprimand, she scooted over next to Justice, tilting her head with a furrowed brow.

"What's on your mind?"

He shrugged a little, huffing softly before throwing a hand up in a vague gesture.

"I can't protect anyone."

"Bullshit."

"Foxy's been torn apart several times because I wasn't there or aware, Des almost died for the same reason, and I couldn't even keep Winnie away from Fazbear's."

Mercy grimaced a little, tilting her head to both sides.

"Well, you do have a bad track record with foxes... But hey, that means nothing, okay? We've all messed up and let our bots get messed up once or twice. Besides, you held off Winnie long enough to let Baby and Cameron take out Ennard, so you did pretty fuckin' good."

Justice wasn't convinced.

"You only really failed to protect Goldie once - and you couldn't help it then, you were overpowered."

Mercy laughed quietly, rolling her eyes.

"You forget that I was the most vengeful and bitter of all of us and took to tearing apart everyone at first."

"Mmh. Still, you're always there. I'm always off fucking around."

He crossed his arms, propping up on his knees.

"He was so upset, Marina. His daughter was dying and I couldn't do anything and he couldn't do anything. And it's on me for not following her when I knew something was up."

The violet ghost sighed.

"Justice, listen. This place fucking sucks. Like, it really does. Half the time, we don't even make a dent in what's contradicting us, even as a team. It wouldn't have mattered if you chased her; if Winnie was the one who caught her, you would've gotten your ass beaten and stopped existing. That would have been even harder on Foxy, loosing two kids in one day."

She kept a solid gaze on him, intense and glowing bright in the darkness. He turned his head to look back, earning a softer look.

"You never asked to be a protecter. Don't be so hard on yourself for not keeping up with a job the world decided to throw you into. You won't always be able to keep up, and that's fine. Nobody's asking you to be perfect at your job."

He nodded a little, sniffling softly and getting a soft smile from Mercy, who moved to hug him. Justice returned it.

"Thanks."

"You're welcome. Now get the hell to sleep," She grunted, pulling away. "Your aura's keeping me up."

Justice laughed in return, rubbing an eye and laying down as she moved back to her previous position.

"Good night, Mercy."

"G'night, Justice."
