The Time We Have [A Hunter x Hunter fan fic]

Chapter I

Yurina is so slow! How can we train to be an unstoppable hunter team when she has her nose buried in a book?!

"Yurinaaaaa," I moaned. "Why are you so boring?"

She sighed,"We're not going to find the hunter exam by walking through every restaurant we see."

"But that's why that guy said he did." I protested.

"That was six years ago, and who knows how long he had his license before that. The exam changes every year I heard." She reason.

"Yea, whatever," I knew I lost the argument, like always.

"Plus I don't see- aaaah!" Yurina had fallen into a hole.

I turned and peeked in. She rubbed her head from where she hit it on the side on the hole.

"Ha! You should watch where you're going!" I laughed. "You say books lead to knowledge, but I think they actually lead to holes!"

"Shut up and help me up..." She trailed off. "Sayumi, come down here, you gotta see this." She kneeled down and saw something shiny.

I carefully but heroically grabbed a nearby vine and slid down the hole. "What's up?" I asked when I landed.

She held up a box. "Check this out!"

It was a pearl colored box with a faint shine. It was engraved with art that looked like it came from the 1600s. It had no lock. "I say we open it."

"What if it's a trap?" Yurina cautioned.

"How are you gonna show me something so pretty and not let me see what's inside?"

"Fine, it's your face."

I rolled my eyes as I slowly opened the box. Y'know, to savor the moment. Inside was a map that seemed to illuminate. "Look!" I told Yurina.

She grabbed the map and unrolled it. "No way," She said in astonishment.

It was a clue to the Hunter exam! Finally! After 3 years we found our first clue! "Do you know what this means?" I asked her.

"Off to the exam!" We both exclaimed.
