Summer of 2009
Jennifer Falize Coles-Malone is the name I cherished from birth, and Phoenix, Arizona is where I've lived my whole life. I have a beautiful husband and two children with my family of two older sisters and parents who are still married and are still deeply in love. Though I may have a "perfect" image of life, under this façade, inside I'm hiding behind a secret I've kept since my college and nursing school days. I wish I could just leave this secret in my memory, but I can't even try! I missed so much about it that it's sometimes hard to look at myself in the mirror.

My family consists of my mother Mrs. Josephine Sanders- Coles and my father Mr. Alfred Coles(who I call Poppa), who've been together since December 20, 1962. They had my eldest sister Maryanne Elise Coles-Tucker on November 6, 1964, while there was a bad dust storm going on, I guess that's why she stormed into the room and spread her social skills like dust in the wind. Then, they had my very crazy middle sister Leigh Rita Coles-Calhoun on March 1, 1967. She's a very funny and straightforward "tell it like it is" type of person. Then, on September 14, 1970, I was born at my grandparents' house when my parents visited them. Our family was a middle-class, working parents household with our parents teaching us to protect one another. Me and my sisters are Very close like friends and siblings all in one. We all are pretty petite women, I'm 5'3, Mary is 5'5, and Leigh is 5'1, so, of course, protecting each other is what we had to do. Having big dreams and aspirations made us want more in life, Maryanne's a College professor teaching Accounting and Marketing. Leigh owns her own grocery and technology stores and myself is an assistant nurse at the Mesa hospital. I went to college and got a degree in Science and went to a nursing school in Mesa. I was that kid in your science class that LOVED everything about science, especially the human body.

We also married some good men. My husband Lun'elle Malone is an architect who owns his own architectural company called "Malone Construction", and makes excellent money from it. My husband 3 years older than me, and I met him at church when he moved to Phoenix from Chicago when I was 5 years old. His mother and father are very good people and his brother Montrelle is a hot, smart mess. Maryanne's husband on the other hand is a different person. Rodger Tucker is a police officer with a past criminal record, crazy huh? He use to get in all kinds of dumb ass trouble: stealing, vandalism, gangs, everything! He and Mary are an unusual pair but they love each other, especially once he got his life together. Leigh's husband Terry Calhoun is from Minneapolis, Minnesota and she met him when they both went to Arizona State University Downtown Phoenix(which is where all of us went). He's an English teacher at our Alma Mater and he's a hilarious guy. We all have children, I have 2, Mary has 4, and Leigh has 3.

But, with me and my husband, our relationship has been cool to the public eye, but the conflict is within myself. I love him so much, but what I did to him, he doesn't deserve that bull shit. Today, my sisters and I are gonna visit our parents in Phoenix, just to talk about old times from childhood to a little of now. Me, Lunie (his nickname), and the kids got in the car and drove from Mesa to Phoenix listening to music and enjoying each other's company. As we were listening to the radio the DJ said, "We still got those Mint Condition tickets for y'all to win. See if you're the number 7 caller to win some seats in one of the first 3 rows and backstage passed to meet the group, Tony Terry, K-Ci and JoJo." "Mint Condition! Baby you love them, you want me to win those tickets for you?", he said about to dial the number of the radio station. I giggled saying, "Oh babe, I've seen them a hundred times already. I can miss one show."
