Last night was a trip to Memory Central that I've been avoiding since it happened. I dreamt about that exact day, which made me cry myself to sleep like I used to back in the day till '07. I woke to music playing in the kitchen and the smell of momma's breakfast, which smelled like heaven! I got up put on my robe and house shoes and went into the kitchen to hear Chaka Khan's "Sweet Thang" playing and everyone eating and jamming out to the music, especially Poppa. "Yeah, what you know about this... Not a Damn Thing!", Poppa said busting a move with my daughter Kylen and Leigh's son TJ and making us laugh. My father used to do this when I was younger when we used to listen to music in the morning. As I walked in, Lunie said offering me a set, "Hey babe, take a seat and have some breakfast." Rodger said eating, "Yeah, these grits and bacon are off the hook!" "Damn right!", Terry said standing up with his food and doing his 2 steps. I set down and had some breakfast with the fam, who was making me laugh and I did a little something when my favorite song came on by Rick James, "Mary Jane".

"Isn't "Mary Jane" the sexy code word for marijuana?", LJ asked. Terry answered, " Yeah. What's so bad is that lots of folks thought that actually talking about some escort or female named, Mary Jane. We didn't know Rick was getting down with the Newports." Mary finishes him saying, "And, those white powder either." Poppa shouted, "RIGHT!", making us laugh. "Yeah, but he's still the man though.", I said with Leigh saying, "Right, despite the drugs and stuff." We continued to listen to music and we were all dancing and enjoying each other, until I heard, "Pretty... Brown... Eyes". Please, not now! "Oh, Auntie Jelly ain't that your group?", Christiana said with a smirk. I blushed and said, "Yeah." Mary and Leigh were looking at me like I said something out of pocket. "That's the song for real man!", Lunie said standing up and trying to dance with me. I danced with Lunie with a smile, reminiscing about the time in '92, when I was in Dallas, Texas at this club.

June 1992

While being on the road with my friends Cynthia and Mint Condition, we went to Dallas, and after a show, we went to a club called "It'll Do Club". I remember having on black pants and, a gold top with the black heeled ankle books, I was looking dazzling chile! I bought the outfit when we arrived and Jeff and Stoke took me and Cynth shopping, they were spoiling the hell out of us two! At the club, we were chilling in the VIP area with about 4 other girls and other folks. Drinks were flowing, but one thing about Mint Condition was, that they had maybe one or two drinks, but they didn't drink so much that they got drunk as a skunk! They were very clean-cut gentlemen, even though my girl Cynthia kinda stayed tipsy, I used to get a drink just to get loosened up. The club was packed, but not so that it felt like you were in a sardine can. Partying and chilling with my fine ass Stokley right beside me, until the DJ said over the mic, "Yo, since we got Mint Condition in the place, this one is for y'all and the beautiful ladies in here looking Dope as ever!", playing "Breaking My Heart (Pretty Brown Eyes).

"Oh yeah!!! Come on Jeff!", Cynthia said pulling poor Jeff to the dance floor. I just snapped my fingers and moved to the music, until Stoke stood up and held his hand out for me to dance, "I know you ain't gon just dance in your sit all night looking as good as you look tonight?" I giggled and took his hand to the dance floor. He placed his hands behind me and I wrapped my arms around his neck, and we slowly danced to the song. Little do you know, he's an amazing dancer who used to be a B-Boy, which explains the smooth turns and moves he had on the stage. As we were still dancing, we looked into each other's eyes, I would gently caress his cheek and chin with my right hand and wrapped it back around his neck. I never felt those butterflies like I did that night dancing with him, it was a dream! I blushed so hard at one point that I just shyly giggled, making him chuckle saying, "What, don't you and Lun'elle do this back home?" "We used to, I can't remember the last time we even went to the club just to dance and spend some time together." At that time, me and Lunie hardly spent time, he went two months without taking me anywhere! One time we went to a nice restaurant, just to stay there for 10 minutes because he got a call from his boss to go make an errand.
